    "description": "<p>The position of Gardener works with plants, applying their knowledge to fruits, vegetables, ornamentals,<br>and non-food crops to maximize their health or growth. They should be able to calculate growth rates<br>and identify plants, plant pests and the ideal growth conditions for plants. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">General Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>To carry out numerous gardening duties, requiring a minimum amount of supervision.</li>\n<li>Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, bed<br>preparation and planting.</li>\n<li>Lawn maintenance and cultivation.</li>\n<li>The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery.</li>\n<li>The use of cylinder and rotary mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers.</li>\n<li>To ensure all equipment, machinery and buildings are secure.</li>\n<li>To keep the tool shed/mess room clean and tidy.</li>\n<li>To keep the borders, thoroughfares and highway footpaths clear and free from litter at all times.</li>\n<li>To empty litter bins around the property.</li>\n<li>To respond to emergency calls.</li>\n<li>Deal with pest problems that could damage plants.</li>\n<li>Prepare and plant rockeries, herbaceous borders and shrubberies.</li>\n<li>Plant and cultivate vegetables beds and fruit bearing trees.</li>\n<li>Follow all Health &amp; Safety standards and procedures.</li>\n<li>Willing to work after hours and weekend work when required.</li>\n<li>Field Safety and Quality Control.</li>\n<li>Follow Health &amp; Safety standards and procedures at all times.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Specific Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise a team of 6 staff members and growing.</li>\n<li>Responsible for the nursery and propagating all kinds of plants such as: trees, palms, native and<br>conventional plants utilizing different techniques.</li>\n<li>Receive and store plants from overseas.</li>\n<li>Takes care of the chicken coup, with more than 100 layers and of eggs for the Brasserie kitchen.</li>\n<li>Takes care of land like Dog Park, Savannah Orchard, Stone Wall and Maoist sound by providing<br>landscaping, maintenance, keeping plants alive and treat diseases on hives and bees.</li>\n<li>Works at the Coconut farm, oversee 200+ coconut palm. Transform farm to organic while also<br>working on the transformation of soil in agriculture form.</li>\n<li>Produce with organic products for the Brasserie such as; honey, candles, balm, lip gloss, scrubs<br>etc.</li>\n<li>Helps with events setup of tables and décor with flowers and plants, leaves etc.</li>\n<li>Participate on evaluating and assessing employees' performance.</li>\n<li>Schedule employees work week and arrange vacation/leave.</li>\n<li>Give tours and teach students and others about the Brasserie, our production of process of food,<br>how we compost, etc.</li>\n<li>Produces more than 50 kinds of vegetables for the restaurant and utilizing areas around Cricket<br>Square to produce.</li>\n<li>Works closely with designer from Miss Margaret Bardwick and Aide developed the landscaping<br>areas around Cricket Square and its properties.</li>\n<li>Develops and design untouched areas as well within Cricket Square.</li>\n<li>Identifies diseases around plants and treat accordingly.</li>\n<li>Supervises all landscaping contractor work such as Power Flowers (works hand-in-hand with<br>them) to ensure the job is completed to standards.</li>\n<li>Check and coordinate the plants with irrigation, soil (tasting soil), plant orders and fertilizers.</li>\n<li>Do inventories of plants and supplies needed.</li>\n<li>Collect insects to identify and determine if they are a problem.</li>\n<li>Control pest, chickens, iguanas and agoutis.</li>\n<li>Takes care of the Brasserie organic garden.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This position is open to Caymanians, Permanent Residents or RERC Holders only. Applicants must provide two verifiable references and a valid police clearance issued within the past six months. The successful candidate will be required to work 45 hours per week, including evening shifts and weekends.</p>",
