Position Overview
The Tool Room Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the performance and precision of tooling used in high-speed manufacturing. This position is responsible for machining, repairing, and improving tooling, dies, and fixtures to support consistent production quality and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
Tooling & Machining
Perform machining and tool room operations across a variety of materials
Repair, modify, and fabricate tooling components, including dies and replacement parts
Operate manual and CNC equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders
Support tooling refurbishment and precision part production
Precision & Quality Control
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to maintain tight tolerances
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
Maintain tooling inventory and prepare tool sets for production
Technical Support & Problem Solving
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
Work with production and maintenance teams to resolve tooling issues
Identify root causes of tooling failures and implement solutions
Continuous Improvement
Assist with equipment rebuilds and tooling upgrades
Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and extend tool life
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Experience machining ferrous, non-ferrous, and composite materials
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
Familiarity with CNC programming, grinding (OD/ID), and jig grinding
Knowledge of tooling repair, fabrication, and rebuild processes
Core Competencies
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork
Flexibility to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical or vocational training in Tool & Die, Machining, or related field preferred
At least 2 years of manufacturing experience (high-speed production preferred)
Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment and precision measuring tools
