Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and build a brighter future for our community.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">As a Substitute Teacher  you will be responsible for...</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Reporting to Substitute Planner at beginning of school day to pick up required materials/schedule of classes and at the end of the school day to return materials.  Follows sign in and out procedures as prescribed by the Principal.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Carrying out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher or following the lead of the classroom teacher is substituting for positions such as Dedicated Aide or Teacher Assistant. In the absence of a lead teacher, the substitute would be responsible for following the lead of the classroom teacher assistant.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Support in creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Support in guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assigned.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.  Straightens chairs, tables, clear chalkboard, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures (if requested)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Indicate to students at beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with school policies and expectations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Ensure that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, recess duty, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Knows emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Knows procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Knows school procedures and regulations. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px; text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES  </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Adhering to the 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. work day</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Regularly attends work and adheres to all attendance policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Be on time for classes, duties, team meetings, and professional development activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">May perform duties usually required of absent teacher, such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, recess duty, etc. Communicate about and plan for absences in advance with teaching teams and the Principal.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Participate in Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Contribute to PLC sessions by being prepared to share data,  ideas, student work,  materials, feedback, facilitating sessions and/or discussions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 13px\">Participate in a Summer Professional Development.
