If you are looking for more than just a job and you want a career, Consider Hood Packaging Corporation.</p><p>Hood Packaging is currently recruiting a <strong>Purchasing Manager</strong> for our Arden Hills, MN plant, to provide efficient execution of the purchasing activities including sourcing, negotiating, issuance of purchase orders, vendor qualification, selection, audit and supplier relationship management for all raw materials and all other materials or services needed for the facility.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Functional Responsibilities</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Sources suppliers, negotiates prices/discounts and manages pricing database.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Consults with senior management and Corporate Purchasing where corporate agreements are in place.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Forecast levels of demand to meet business needs and keep constant check on stock levels.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Monitor supply markets and trends (material price increases, shortages, availability, alternatives, change in suppliers etc.).</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates actively in cost saving activities.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Creates purchase orders based on MRP, history and or sales forecast, safety stock.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Resolves discrepancies in pricing, packing lists and receiving reports.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Follows up with suppliers to ensure promised delivery dates are met.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Review production schedule regularly to ensure material availability for all work orders, keeps plant management advised of any problems with suppliers.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Maintain sufficient levels of inventory while controlling overhead.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Reconcile Inventories on consignment on a monthly and yearly basis.</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>College diploma and 3-5 years&rsquo; related experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in the plastic or converting industry. &nbsp;OR High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years&rsquo; experience.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Training in Supply Chain Management.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>ERP/MRP experience.</p><p><strong>Skills</strong></p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Effective communication and interpersonal skills.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Planning and organizational skills.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Negotiation and networking skills.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Analytical and mathematical Skills.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Must be able to meet target dates, prioritize and practice excellent time management skills</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Attention to detail.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Excellent Benefit Options: Medical, Dental, 401K, Life Insurance, Vacation</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p>Hood Packaging Corporation is an equal opportunity employer and considers applications for all positions without regard to race, gender, religion, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, the presence of a non-job-related medical condition or handicap or any other legally protected status.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>\n",
