T.) Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>The Computed Tomography Technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.<br><br>&nbsp;</li><li>Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations</li><li>Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures</li><li>Take patient medical history before an exam</li><li>The Computed Tomography Technologist must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques.</li><li>Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology</li><li>Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients</li><li>Supervised by a board-certified radiologist but afforded a great amount of independence and responsibility<br><br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><p>Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school and ability to meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), C.T. Tech certified required</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>WORKING ENVIRONMENT</strong></p><p>The CT Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and bloodborne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases and dusts. Frequent exposures to distressed patients, families or visitors. Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
