Lochner – learn more about us This position will work on a wide variety of highway improvement projects, interstate and toll capacity projects, alternative contracting and as needed assist the regional leadership with development of PD&E projects for the highway sector. The primary responsibilities for this position include: Under general direction, perform civil engineering design and analysis on projects for our public sector clients Collaborating with junior staff and assisting in the direction of other technical staff to produce quality designs and plans and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.) Assist with the development of Preliminary Engineering Reports and PD&E Concept Plans. Assist and participate in marketing pursuits including proposal writing, research and presentation development. Developing construction documents, estimates and assisting with construction administration services Serving as a Task Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager with responsibilities that include budget and schedule management as well as some client interaction Assisting Senior Project Manager with oversight and management of major highway capacity projects including design bid build, design build and P3 work. Coordination of engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet objectives. Assist with monitoring financial progress and scheduling of major infrastructure projects. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering 8-12 years of strong experience in design and construction plan production. Experience with tolled express lanes and/or interstate capacity improvements a plus. Strong technical skills with the desire to participate and grow in the management of complex surface transportation projects. Experience with alternative contracting a plus. PE license or the ability to obtain a PE license within 6 months of hire Experience with FDOT / NCDOT processes a plus MicroStation ORD experience Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships with team members. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with in-house task teams, subconsultant and prime consultant partners.
