At Stellar Solutions, we offer talented, energetic, and immediately productive resources to satisfy our customers’ critical needs in systems engineering and integration, mission operations, program management, and strategic planning. We are a leading service and expertise provider for high-tech commercial ventures, spanning communications, earth observation, and remote sensing systems and data products, to the infrastructures that support Earth-orbiting and beyond-Earth-orbit businesses. Stellar Solutions is searching for a Senior AI&T Systems Engineer to provide on-site technical oversight of spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) activities in support of a satellite constellation program. This role serves as the customer’s primary technical representative at a supplier facility, ensuring disciplined execution of AI&T activities, compliance with program requirements, and timely delivery of flight hardware. Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada (primary on-site assignment at supplier facility) Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with spacecraft AI&T, strong technical judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a high-tempo, supplier-led environment. This individual must be an effective communicator, trusted technical authority, and proactive problem solver capable of managing risk, resolving anomalies, and maintaining schedule integrity across multiple integration and test campaigns. In this role, the successful candidate will: Serve as the customer’s on-site technical representative (“boots on the ground”) at the supplier facility, overseeing satellite- and constellation-level AI&T execution to ensure compliance with approved methodologies, plans, and requirements. Conduct continuous review of AI&T documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports, and verification matrices, providing formal technical assessments, feedback, and approval recommendations. Witness and govern critical integration milestones and environmental test campaigns, including Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), Thermal Balance (TBAL), Vibration/Acoustic, and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing. Act as first-line manager for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and anomalies, supporting or leading Failure Review Boards (FRBs) to ensure robust root-cause analysis and effective corrective action implementation. Monitor AI&T production schedules, identify emerging risks or bottlenecks, and provide regular status, risk assessments, and schedule forecasts to customer program and engineering leadership. Serve as the primary liaison between the customer’s remote engineering team and the supplier’s AI&T organization, facilitating technical clarifications, issue resolution, and coordination of design or process changes. Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Mission Assurance teams to enforce compliance with cleanliness, handling, ESD, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control requirements in controlled cleanroom environments. Participate in and support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Mission Readiness Reviews (MRRs), and other program gate reviews, ensuring facilities, personnel, procedures, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) are ready to proceed. Oversee readiness and configuration control of Electrical and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE/MGSE), including calibration status and operational performance. Operate effectively within an international, cross-cultural environment while managing logistics associated with flight hardware handling, material transfers, and inventory control. Required Skills: Minimum 10+ years of experience supporting spacecraft AI&T, integration, test, or mission assurance for satellite programs. Demonstrated experience overseeing supplier-led AI&T activities and serving as a customer technical authority. Hands-on experience with environmental testing campaigns (TVAC, vibration, acoustic, EMC). Experience managing anomalies, NCRs, and participation in Failure Review Boards. Strong understanding of cleanroom operations, ESD controls, and FOD prevention practices. Experience reviewing and approving technical documentation related to integration and verification. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical issues and recommendations to diverse stakeholders. Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment, including extended on-site assignments. Must be eligible to access export-controlled information in accordance with U.S. Government regulations. Desired Skills: Experience supporting satellite constellation programs or high-rate production environments. Familiarity with international supplier environments and cross-border hardware logistics. Experience with customer oversight roles on commercial or hybrid commercial/government programs. Working proficiency in French to support technical coordination at the supplier facility. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline required. Master’s degree preferred. Deliverable(s) Deliver disciplined on-site technical oversight of spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) activities, ensuring supplier execution aligns with approved plans, quality standards, and schedule commitments to support successful delivery of flight-ready hardware.
