the team with Barrios, a teammate company!</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The <strong>Systems Engineer</strong> will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Be responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plans.</li>\n <li>Prepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)</li>\n <li>Work with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responses.</li>\n <li>Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performance.</li>\n <li>Utilize a requirements management software and systems engineering tool such as DOORS, Cradle or Jama.</li>\n <li>Create and manage requirements for various projects – including flow down from NASA Program to contractor </li>\n <li>Project through verification closeout as well as interface definition between subsystems</li>\n <li>Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and raise issues.</li>\n <li>Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.</li>\n <li>Support and/or participate in system testing</li>\n <li>Perform other tasks assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Education/Experience/Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, plus two (2) year of experience in the field or in a related area.</li>\n <li>Experience leading technical teams</li>\n <li>Experience designing and leading complex system development which includes both hardware and software configuration items</li>\n <li>Experience leading development projects</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the systems engineering process</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the system lifecycle</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle to include hardware and software development process</li>\n <li>Understanding of the space system certification process</li>\n <li>Understanding of Design for Sustainment methodology</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication across multiple disciplines</li>\n <li>Knowledge and work experience in a Systems Engineering role in a NASA, DoD, or Aerospace environment.</li>\n <li>Experience with requirements management, verification and validation definition and execution, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware.</li>\n <li>Experience with the concept development, concept of operation and operational concept definition, architecture definition, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.</li>\n <li>Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office products.</li>\n <li>Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferences:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools.</li>\n <li>Experience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering software products.</li>\n <li>Experience in technical or team leadership roles.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Requirements </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.</li>\n <li>Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.</li>\n <li>Work may involve sitting for extended periods.</li>\n <li>May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.</li>\n <li>Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.</li>\n <li>Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.</li>\n <li>Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)</li>\n <li>Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.</li>\n <li>Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.</li>\n <li>Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.</li>\n <li>This position may require some commuting
