At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Distribution Inspector is to inspect and ensure that all construction activities are performed within a client-required project scope of work (SOW), specifications, procedures, codes, standards, and safety requirements. This position requires a thorough understanding of various natural gas distribution systems and their implications on the customer/community. The Distribution Inspector is expected to constantly communicate with stakeholders in a high-paced environment while contractors work in restricted spaces and ROW areas within public and private property. Accurate and detailed communication is a must in this position and will be utilized daily for record-keeping and progress tracking.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Distribution Inspector works under the direction of the Lead Inspector, who will assign additional responsibilities to each inspector as needed. The duties assigned to the Distribution Inspector will include, but are not limited to, the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure all work activities are performed safely and professionally within the company's Health and Safety handbook.</li>\n <li>Document and submit daily reporting and forms of all construction activities daily to the Distribution Management Team.</li>\n <li>Confirm the appropriate SDR rating of the polyethylene pipe being utilized for installation based on design drawings and compatibility with the existing pressure system.</li>\n <li>Maintain daily records to support all installation activities, construction as-built, and complete paperwork.</li>\n <li>Inspect all materials before installation, including pipe defects, chatter marks, and gouges.</li>\n <li>Ensure all material installed is per project specifications.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with all project-specific environmental requirements, landowner stipulations, and construction requirements.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with all city, county, state, and other agency permit requirements.</li>\n <li>Ensure all third-party substructures (foreign utilities) are located before machine digging or HDD operations, including mark outs with active dig numbers and potholing/test holing when necessary.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with outside agency onsite inspectors, contractor personnel, and client personnel working on various aspects of construction projects.</li>\n <li>Communicate and coordinate effectively with property owners and the general public directly affected by project construction, including scheduling appointments when necessary.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with the project team during construction daily. The level of communication may vary depending on the nature and size of the project.</li>\n <li>Inform Distribution Management immediately of any safety accidents or concerns, construction deviations, or any problems and anticipated problems – including line strikes, blowing gas, injuries on the job, etc.</li>\n <li>Proactively communicate daily scheduling changes to Distribution Management.</li>\n <li>Inspect the plastic fusion process onsite, including but not limited to cleaning, scraping, and fusing; inspect the final fusion bead for adherence to Client gas work methods.</li>\n <li>Ensure plastic fusion equipment is calibrated and in working order, including overseeing the temperature reading of the iron and the cool-down procedures once fusion is completed.</li>\n <li>Inspect meter set assembly.</li>\n <li>Inspect customer relights.</li>\n <li>Inspect service transfers and abandonments.</li>\n <li>Oversee purging operations as per Client gas work methods.</li>\n <li>Ensure all components of customer services are installed per Client gas work methods.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma, 3-5 years experience in gas distribution, polyethylene pipe fusion, meter sets, mainline installation, knowledge of underground locating, and HDD process.</li>\n <li>Familiar with all forms of plastic fusion, including butt fusion, mechanical and electrofusion, and various fittings, from pipe, tees, etc.</li>\n <li>Experienced in various distribution pressures (including all pressure levels of low-pressure systems, medium/intermediate pressure systems, and high-pressure systems) and a firm understanding of when to utilize the appropriate gauge type.</li>\n <li>Recommended Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through the American Welding Society or Certificate for Pipeline Welding Inspection (CPWI+V) through the National Welding Inspection School.</li>\n <li>Should have a fundamental understanding of distribution standards, codes and construction methods, and safety requirements.</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li>\n <li>Attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.</li>\n <li>Ability to read, document clearly, and interpret the client standards and procedures to others if need be.</li>\n <li>Posess the ability to read and interpret plan view drawings.</li>\n <li>A clear understanding of Locates and 811 dig procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p><strong>E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc.</strong> offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match.</p>\n<h2>Wage Data Per State Requirements</h2>\n<p>Hourly rate for this position is $44.00 an hour.
