We are a national leader in environmental remediation services, including soil remediation, soil stabilization and solidification, landfill cap and cell construction, permeable reactive barriers, deep soil mixing, biopolymer trenches, slurry walls and demolition of hazardous waste sites.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Heavy Equipment Operator I will safely operate heavy construction equipment for earthwork construction projects. May include operating multiple types of heavy equipment such as trucks, front-end loaders, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, backhoes, excavators, hoe rams, bulldozers, scrapers, compactors, or skid steers onsite to excavate, move, grade and stabilize materials in a safe and efficient manner.  RECON holds safety as a core value, and the Operator I must always be focused on safe work practices.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Observe and comply with all company and specific site safety and project policies</li>\n <li>Supply input to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and frequent improvements or changes to Job Safety Analysis Plan (JSAP)</li>\n <li>Operate heavy construction equipment in a safe and appropriate manner to mitigate risk of injury, property damage, and the loss of life in accordance to company policies</li>\n <li>Perform daily pre-inspection of equipment to ensure it's safe and fit for duty, conduct on-going maintenance checks, and manage the daily custody of construction equipment</li>\n <li>Conduct constant surveillance of surroundings before and during the operation of all equipment to ensure safe ground and slope conditions; maintain an adequate distance between other equipment, RECON team members and structures in the immediate work area</li>\n <li>Communicate clearly using radio contact, visible verbal, and nonverbal hand signals to determine where materials should be safely placed, loaded or unloaded</li>\n <li>Work closely with the Foreman and Superintendent to perform work tasks with the highest level of quality, take direction from more senior level equipment operators on the team to ensure production remains on schedule and all construction work is performed safely  </li>\n <li>May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation </li>\n <li>May perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time</li>\n <li>Responsible for care and custody of equipment being operated, including daily cleaning and maintenance</li>\n <li>Report all equipment maintenance issues to Superintendent </li>\n <li>Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practices</li>\n <li>May require the ability to read survey stakes for alignment and grading</li>\n <li>Perform the duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while using different levels of PPE and respiratory equipment, when necessary</li>\n <li>MSHA Certification a plus</li>\n <li>Perform duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while working in all outdoor weather conditions</li>\n <li>Must be able to travel over extended periods of time on short notice</li>\n <li>Must be able to read, write and understand math and English</li>\n <li>Required to pass skills test prior to operating equipment</li>\n <li>Must reliably show up on time to work five to seven days a week</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education/Experience</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent is required</li>\n <li>40-Hour HAZWOPER training certification and TWIC preferred</li>\n <li>Two years of industry related experience is preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Recon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
