This role is responsible for helping architect, deploy, and manage AWS GovCloud and on-premises platforms, supporting emerging AI capabilities, modern containerized workloads, and enterprise virtualization environments. The position works closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to improve platform reliability, automate operations, support application modernization, and contribute to long-term hybrid cloud strategy while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.  <strong>All work is performed onsite in Washington, DC.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, implement, and maintain hybrid infrastructure spanning AWS GovCloud and on-premises data centers while ensuring compliance with federal security standards.</li>\n <li>Manage Kubernetes fleet operations across AWS EKS, on-premises Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE), and VMware vSphere with Kubernetes (VKS).</li>\n <li>Lead application modernization initiatives, migrating and optimizing workloads across cloud and on-premises environments.</li>\n <li>Administer and optimize hypervisor clusters, including VMware vSphere and ESXi, for enterprise workloads.</li>\n <li>Manage Splunk infrastructure for centralized logging, monitoring, and security analytics.</li>\n <li>Implement comprehensive audit logging, monitoring, and observability solutions across hybrid environments.</li>\n <li>Support security engineering initiatives including vulnerability management, compliance automation, and security hardening.</li>\n <li>Support emerging AI/ML capabilities and cloud-native solutions.</li>\n <li>Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment using Jira for project management.</li>\n <li>Ensure systems meet NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance requirements.</li>\n <li>Automate operational tasks and improve platform reliability across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.</li>\n <li>Contribute to architectural decisions and hybrid cloud strategy.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and on-premises data center environments.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes platforms, including EKS, Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE), or VMware vSphere with Kubernetes (VKS).</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere administration, ESXi, and enterprise cluster management.</li>\n <li>Experience administering Splunk and supporting enterprise log management, monitoring, or security analytics.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and FISMA compliance frameworks.</li>\n <li>Experience with security engineering, audit logging, observability, vulnerability management, and security hardening practices.</li>\n <li>Experience with application modernization, containerization, and workload migration across cloud and on-premises environments.</li>\n <li>Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure, services, or related cloud-native technologies is preferred.</li>\n <li>Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform and experience supporting GitLab CI/CD pipelines.</li>\n <li>Experience working in Agile environments and using Jira for project collaboration and tracking.</li>\n <li>AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer are preferred.</li>\n <li>VMware or Kubernetes certifications, such as CKA or CKAD, are preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience supporting financial services or federal government environments is preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Salary: $166,000 - $174,500.00</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Additional benefits include:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay</li>\n <li>Medical Insurance</li>\n <li>Dental Insurance</li>\n <li>Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending Accounts</li>\n <li>Pre-Tax 401K and/or After-Tax Roth IRA (with employer matching contribution)</li>\n <li>Tuition and Technical Training Reimbursement</li>\n <li>Exercise Reimbursement</li>\n <li>Computer Reimbursement</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong> The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
