    "description": "<p>The University of Pikeville seeks part-time faculty who are dedicated to excellence in teaching and student learning. This application is for a position at the Tanner College of Dental Medicine as a part-time academic lecturer.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on dental science, theory, and foundational concepts, ensuring content aligns with course objectives and learning outcomes.</li>\n<li>Develop and administer assessments, assignments, and examinations; provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and academic growth.</li>\n<li>Assist in executing course materials, syllabi, and instructional strategies in alignment with the College’s curriculum and educational standards.</li>\n<li>Participate in faculty calibration and other activities to ensure consistency in instruction and compliance with Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards.</li>\n<li>Stay current in dental education and subject matter expertise; collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.</li>\n<li>Assist in preparing teaching materials, technology, and resources to create a state-of-the-art, engaging classroom learning environment.</li>\n<li>Communicate regularly with the Course Director and/or the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, inclusive culture of camaraderie, mutual respect, and teamwork that supports TCDM goals.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a DMD or DDS degree or equivalent or other terminal degree as required (PhD or EdD).</li>\n<li>Must have excellent organizational, communication, teaching, and decision-making skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Faculty Expectations: </span></span></p>\n<p>Note that the University of Pikeville recognizes that effective educators are themselves life-long learners. Part-time faculty members are encouraged to attend our professional development workshops whenever possible to improve use of educational technology, determine ways to better engage students, and reflect on methods to create the most effective environment for student growth.</p>\n<p><br>Positions are available in the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
