The role requires deep technical expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and leadership in ensuring systems meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.</p>\n<p>This position plays a critical role in delivering robust, efficient, and compliant water infrastructure, often within multidisciplinary teams and fast paced environments.</p>\n<p><strong>Your Responsibilities Will Be:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Technical & Engineering</strong></p>\n<p>• Lead the mechanical design and specification of water and wastewater systems, including:</p>\n<p>o Pumping systemso Treatment processeso Pipework and valve networkso Filtration and disinfection systemso Mechanical plant and ancillary equipment</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Produce and review high spec technical documentation, including:</p>\n<p>o Design calculationso Technical specificationso Schematics and layoutso Equipment schedules</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g. WRAS, BS/EN standards, local water authority requirements).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Carry out technical assurance and independent design reviews.</p>\n<p><strong>Project Delivery</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Support projects from concept through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulators to resolve technical challenges.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Review contractor submissions, method statements, and commissioning plans.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Provide site support, inspections, and witness testing where required.</p>\n<p><strong>Leadership & Collaboration</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Act as a technical authority for water mechanical systems within the business.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and project teams.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Contribute to technical strategy, best practice development, and continuous improvement initiatives.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Collaborate closely with civil, electrical, ICA, and process engineering disciplines.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.</p>\n<p>• Significant experience in water, wastewater, or utilities engineering environments.</p>\n<p>• Strong understanding of hydraulics, pumping systems, treatment processes, and mechanical plant.</p>\n<p>• Proven ability to deliver high spec, safety critical, or regulated projects.</p>\n<p>• Excellent technical writing, problem solving, and communication skills.</p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p>• Chartered or working toward <strong>CEng</strong> status (IMechE or equivalent).</p>\n<p>• Experience with major frameworks, utilities providers, or mission critical facilities.</p>\n<p>• Knowledge of energy efficiency, resilience, and sustainability principles.</p>\n<p>• Familiarity with digital design tools (e.g. 3D modelling, BIM environments).</p>\n<p><strong>ADA Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>Physical Demand: Light to moderate work, involving exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 5 pounds frequently.</p>\n<p>• This role is based in a manufacturing environment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
