Cortez - Crushing and Conveying Operator
Department: Operator, Underground Mining Operations
Job Level: Frontline
JOB PURPOSE
The Crushing & Conveying Operator provides labor support for routine clean-up activities along the Range Front Decline belt line at Cortez Hills Underground. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area during scheduled downtime by removing debris, accessing guarded areas, and staging cleanup materials in designated crosscuts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform clean-up activities along the Range Front Decline belt line during scheduled downs
Remove and reinstall conveyor guarding as required to safely access clean-up areas
Shovel, rake, and hose debris from beneath the belt line
Stage all cleaned material in designated open crosscuts between Range Front Decline portals
Operate hand tools and cleaning equipment as required
Operate a skid steer when necessary to support clean-up activities
Follow all site safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and underground work standards
Maintain good housekeeping practices to support safe underground operations
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Experience working in underground mining or industrial environments preferred
Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including shoveling and raking debris
Familiarity with conveyor systems and guarding preferred
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.

"OrganizationDescriptionStr": "<span>Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined our significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world. NGM produces approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold a year. The massive mining operation comprises eight mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities and hosts three of Barrick’s Tier One assets: Carlin, Cortez, and Turquoise Ridge.
