This job encompasses the identification of improvement opportunities, as well as the investigation, analysis and implementation of solutions to quality issues.</p>\n<h2>Essential Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prevention – Eliminate nonconformance, defect costs and delays by identifying root cause of problems and implementing/directing corrective actions that prevent potential reoccurrences of problems.</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Participate in the development and implementation of quality plans</li>\n  <li>Provide technical support required to improve supplier competence and performance</li>\n  <li>Apply quality tools to improve operations and support functional quality competence and performance</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Quality System Maintenance and Improvement – Provide leadership and support for all aspects of the Quality Assurance program in conjunction with other Q.E.’s and the Quality organization</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Analyze quality costs, develop and generate reports and/or actions to drive improvement</li>\n  <li>Assist in identifying the need for, and the creation of, Salvage/scrap tickets, DAR’s, CAPA’s, etc. and collecting and analyzing data</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Identify Quality Problems:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Analyze scrap and rework. Report and recommend improvements.</li>\n  <li>Review and investigate customer complaints, compile data and document findings.</li>\n  <li>Communicate supplier and internal quality problems and validate corrective actions.</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Interface with suppliers at the plant as well as attend visits to supplier locations to deal with issues as they occur.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Position Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong> 4 Year Engineering/ Technical degree with minimum of 3 yrs Experience (machining and quality related)</p>\n<p><strong>Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High degree of interpersonal skills to communicate with production operators, operation leaders, and supplier management</li>\n <li>Leadership skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of machine shop, inspection and testing processes</li>\n <li>Strong Communication Skills (written & verbal)</li>\n <li>Strong Computer Skills (AS400, Access, Excel, Word, Shop Floor & Intranet)</li>\n <li>Familiar with ISO 9001 requirements</li>\n <li>Strong customer service skills</li>\n <li>Familiar with Lean mfg concepts</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills</li>\n <li>Team player</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Change Management principles</li>\n <li>Organizational agility skills</li>\n <li>Decision making skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of QA processes(FMEA, Root Cause Corrective Action, APQP, PPAP, etc.)</li>\n <li>Ability to read and understand Design Drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)</li>\n <li>Ability to use Standard Measuring Devices</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Foundry Terminology and Processes helpful.</li>\n <li>Job Shop experience a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
