    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><em><u>Job Summary:</u></em></strong></p><p>The Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers Program at Harris-Stowe State University addresses barriers to digital inclusion by providing the benefits of technology, connectivity, and hands-on learning opportunities to middle and high school students in underserved school and communities, to help them thrive in the digital age in a three-week summer experience (June 08, 2026-June 26, 2026).&nbsp;</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><em><u>Essential Functions:</u></em></strong></p><ul><li>Provide hands-on STEM learning experiences using the curriculum developed by Arizona State University.</li><li>Passionate about STEM Education and working with young people</li><li>Must follow the camp curriculum</li><li>Complete and/or attend all required trainings</li><li><strong>Required travel to yearly national Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers Instructor Training (Spring semester)</strong></li><li>Set up and attend both Open House Events (one in the Fall of 2026, one in the Spring of 2026).&nbsp;</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><em><u>Minimum Education and Experience</u></em></strong><strong><u>:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Licensed middle school or high school teachers preferred.</li><li>Classroom experience required.</li><li>STEM teaching experienced preferred.&nbsp;</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><em><u>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</u></em></strong><u>:</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines; &nbsp;</li><li>Must have the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse and demanding student and faculty population; &nbsp;</li><li>Must be a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented and culturally diverse environment; &nbsp;</li><li>Must be perceptive and patient, with strong people skills and a willingness to assist others; &nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated ability to organize, implement and facilitate workshop, programs and informational presentations; &nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated ability to build rapport in developing meaningful relationships with students and colleagues; &nbsp;</li><li data-pasted=\"true\">Ability to demonstrate ownership, accountability and teamwork; &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to focus on results and to commit to excellence; &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><em><u>Physical Requirements</u></em></strong><u>:</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>May be susceptible to eyestrain, back discomfort, and hand/wrist problems due to long periods working on a computer; &nbsp;</li><li>Occasional stress may occur from volume and deadlines; &nbsp;</li><li>Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity; &nbsp;</li><li>Must be mobile throughout the campus; &nbsp;</li><li>May be some walking, standing, bending or carrying light items.</li></ul><p><strong><em><u>Working Conditions and Environment</u></em></strong><u>:</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>May be susceptible to eyestrain, back discomfort, and hand/wrist problems due to long periods working on a computer; &nbsp;</li><li>Occasional stress may occur from volume and deadlines; &nbsp;</li><li>Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity; &nbsp;</li><li>Must be mobile throughout the campus; &nbsp;</li><li>May be some walking, standing, bending or carrying light items.</li></ul><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><br></p><p data-pasted=\"true\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">EOE Statement</span></strong></p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Harris-Stowe State University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
