Position Summary:
The QC Technician inspects products throughout the fabrication process and identifies non-conforming material and parts to ensure finished product meets or exceeds customer specifications. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. Primary Responsibilities:
Utilize proper measurement equipment to inspect products produced and determine conformance to specifications.
Preparation and submission of part inspection reports.
Assist in ensuring plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained.
Conduct Quality Assurance audits to ensure company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.
Prepare plant audit reports and submit them to Quality Manager.
Assist in the resolution of quality problems required.
Evaluate and take corrective action, when necessary, with regard to product date coding and trade age management at all levels of product movement.
Educate and instruct production personnel in recommended quality control testing and assist in confirming these procedures are being maintained.
Operate and program a coordinate measuring machine.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
4+ years relevant experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
Ability to be self-directed and motivated during majority of workday.
Ability to prioritize within established guidelines.
Ability to work within micro-precision (+-.001) environment.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain electronic and hard copy file systems.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings including GD&T.
PC, Windows, MS Office proficiency.
Preferred Skills:
2+ year experience with dimensional measurement
Experience with operating a 3-dimensional coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
Basic understanding of quality systems including Measurement System Analysis.
Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:
This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
