Position Description Northern Pines Mental Health Center is proud to offer competitive wages and an exceptional benefits package! We are seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our Substance Use Disorder Services team. The general purpose of this position is to provide co-occurring substance abuse counseling services. Essential Functions include: Provide clinical mental health services to co-occurring substance use clients Facilitate and co-facilitate individual, group, family, and crisis therapies Competencies and ability to provide empirically-supported psychotherapy to address a wide range of clinical and behavioral issues Provide intakes, diagnostic evaluations, and updates to evaluations Develop and implement a treatment plan Complete a Behavior Intervention/Crisis Plan Complete third party billing requirements such as obtaining prior authorizations and communicating with the billing office as necessary Collaborate regularly with both staff and community partners including: schools, social services, court services, medical agencies, mental health providers, managed care organizations and the community at large Participate in the referral process Maintain necessary written records in accordance with NPMHC policies and procedures and other applicable regulations Provide crisis intervention services as requested Qualifications include: This position may be filled by a mental health professional licensed in Minnesota (LICSW, LMFT, LP, PMHNP, LPCC) Current First Aid and CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or willingness to obtain upon hire At least one year of work experience in direct service to individuals with substance use problems or one year of work experience in the management or administration of direct service to individuals with substance use problems A Master's degree in the behavioral sciences Education or experience in co-occurring disorders Travel is a function of this position; ability to operate a motor vehicle along with a valid driver’s license is required. Compensation & Benefits include: A wage range of $62,000 - $77,000 annually Health, Dental, Disability and Life insurance with other additional voluntary options for spousal life, short term disability, accident, hospital indemnity and critical illness plans Health Savings account with employer contribution 401K with employer match Generous paid time off (1st - 3rd year, full-time employees earn 19 days/152 hours per year. Increases with longevity!) Nine holidays observed per year as follows: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day and a Weather Float Day.
