We <br>understand that, as professionals in the engineering fi eld, the work we do builds the places we live, <br>work, and play for generations and we are proud to play our part.  <br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview: </span><br>Reporting directly to the Courtenay Manager, the successful Engineer in Training to Intermediate <br>P.Eng. will primarily be involved in construction related geotechnical engineering at a remote mine <br>site in Northern BC. This camp-based position is a critical role in the construction of a new access <br>road within the remote location, and will include overseeing day-to-day construction activities, <br>coordination with contractors, subcontractors, site and other engineers, monitoring progress and <br>providing both technical and quality management. Camp shifts are typically 2 weeks on, 2 weeks <br>off.  This position's office location is flexible.<br> <br>While the construction project is seasonal, this is a permanent full-time position. During off-season <br>months, the role will include general engineering services from proposal stage through to survey, <br>assessment, design and construction of projects. Projects may vary from resource sector road and <br>crossing survey and design to geotechnical assessments to support resource development and <br>construction.  <br> <br>The successful applicant will have the opportunity for professional development working with a <br>motivated and dynamic team of experienced professionals. Fieldwork is an integral part of this <br>position, and applicants must be prepared for fi eld work including camp shifts, northern climates <br>and hiking in to remote sites in all conditions. <br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Major Job Functions: </span><br>•  Construction-related field engineering tasks including: <br>•  Site supervision and coordination <br>•  Technical support <br>•  Quality Control and Compliance <br>•  Reporting and Documentation <br>•  Communication <br>•  Consultant engineering services, including: <br>•  Site investigations, geotechnical drilling and/or test pitting <br>•  Report preparation <br>•  Geotechnical design <br>•  Coordinating project drawings and reports <br>•  Completing field reviews during construction  <br>•  Assisting with project management and/or contract administration <br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Specific Skills and Knowledge: </span><br>•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive <br>relationships across all levels of the business. <br>•  Strong technical analysis and technical writing capabilities <br>•  Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work and in camp</p>\n<p>•  Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work on numerous <br>projects <br>•  Willingness to learn and work with limited supervision <br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education and Experience: </span><br>•  Bachelor’s degree Geological, Civil or related field of Engineering <br>•  Eligible for registration with EGBC as an EIT <br>•  Experience working in a remote mine site an asset <br>•  Minimum 4 years of experience <br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Location and Site Conditions: </span><br>•  Remote Camp setting with private accommodations <br>•  Camp Accommodations include meals, gym, recreation and entertainment facilities <br>•  Travel Arrangements provided from Courtenay Airport <br>•  FIFO Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off  based on 12 -hour days <br>•  Drug &amp; Alcohol-free workplace  <br> <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary Range: </span><br>•  1st Year EIT (E1-E2) 60-70k <br>•  2nd Year EIT (E2) 65-75k <br>•  3rd Year EIT (E2) 75-85k <br>•  4th Year EIT (E2-E3) 80-90k <br>•  Junior P.Eng.
