As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have an exciting oppotunity for a<strong> Social Worker, Professional Practice Leader for up to 3 years</strong> to work with our <strong>Allied Health Services and Professional Practice department. </strong>The Professional Practice Leader (PPL) for Social Work provides leadership to support and enable Social Workers across the organization to embrace the patient-centered care philosophy into practice and meet the mission, vision and values of Humber River Health. This position has a dual reporting accountability to the Director of Professional Practice for their role as Professional Practice Leader and to the Manager of Allied Health Services for the clinical care role.</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: Temporary Full Time</strong><strong>Duration (if contract): January 30, 2028</strong><strong>Hours of Work:</strong> Monday to Friday, occasional weekends.<strong>Location: Primary Wilson Site, trav to RCCs (Finch and Church) may be required. </strong><strong>Labour Group: </strong>OPSEU 590 <strong>Reporting Relationship: Manager, Social Work</strong><strong>Hourly Rate:  $46.90 - $60.80</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Resource to clinical programs for matters involving discipline specific professional practice.</p></li>\n <li><p>Works collaboratively with clinical programs and other discipline leaders to facilitate the integration of professional standards and promote professional practice.</p></li>\n <li><p>Functions as a mentor and support for new and current staff to ensure that specialized and high quality clinical expertise is available for patient care.</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide a leadership role both within the Allied Health Services department and as an advocate for the Allied Health department goals and objectives.</p></li>\n <li><p>Coaching in Clinical Social Work related matters, monitoring and making recommendations regarding clinical practice and supporting the profession’s growth and development.</p></li>\n <li><p>Clinical caseload assignment of fifty percent (50%) of the work schedule.</p></li>\n <li>Provide support to the Clinical Manager for scheduling to ensure that appropriate staffing and clinical support is provided on the patient care units.</li>\n <li>Support and coordination of student SW placements with Professional Practice and Clinical Managers</li>\n <li> Participates in organizational committees and working groups for implementation of Quality Improvement Projects. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>MSW obtained from an accredited School of Social Work required.</p></li>\n <li><p>Current registration in good standing with the College of Social Workers of Ontario.</p></li>\n <li><p>Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting (full time equivalent).</p></li>\n <li><p>Demonstrated critical thinking skills and effective problem solving skills.</p></li>\n <li><p>Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload to meet varied assignments from both Professional Practice and Allied Health.</p></li>\n <li><p>Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement processes adult learning principles and change management </p></li>\n <li><p>Recent experience utilizing leadership skills such acting as a mentor /preceptors others, teaching at the University level leading project.</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with Interprofessional Collaborative Practice initiatives, projects or committees</p></li>\n <li><p>Computer skills and knowledge of MT 6, M.S. Word, Excel and PowerPoint. </p></li>\n <li><p>Excellent communication skills.             </p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to travel from site to site.  </p></li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
