We're committed to delivering high-quality solutions that enhance safety and efficiency on America's roadways.<br><br><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong><br>•Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects<br>•Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring issues to the appropriate warehouse or job site supervisor as well as the designated Safety Department representative.<br>•Perform basic math calculations to determine how to cut wooden forms to the correct sizes based on drawings.<br>•Perform manual digging operations based on drawings (shovel, edger, etc.).<br>•Upon completion of training, demonstrate the ability to utilize aerial lifts to hang traffic signals.<br>•Upon completion of training, demonstrate the ability to conduct bridge aerial work using a bridge machine.<br>•As required, and under supervision, install basic electrical system components (conduits, junction boxes, etc.) and perform basic electrical tasks (pull conductors through conduit, wire conductors, etc.)<br>•Demonstrate the ability to safely operate heavy equipment (forklifts, excavators, skid steers).<br>•Properly secure material and equipment on a trailer.<br>•Properly hook up a trailer to a vehicle.<br>•Perform daily DOT inspections on equipment to ensure vehicles meet DOT guidelines<br>•At all times, safely utilizes hand tools (drills, hammers, levels, etc.)<br>•Upon completion of training, implement proper traffic control techniques<br>•As required, load and unload trucks and trailers.<br>•Competently perform basic vehicle maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc.)<br>•Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientation, training, and printed materials.<br>•Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.<br>•Perform materials handling and storage.<br>•Other duties as assigned<br><br><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong>:<br>•High school diploma, equivalent, or past work experience<br>•Must possess a current Driver's License, Commercial Driver's License (Type A) preferred<br>•Must be able to work a flexible schedule with overtime, nights, and weekends as the job requires<br>•Must meet the eligibility requirements of the company Fleet Policy to be a company sanctioned driver. <br>• If requested, must successfully complete company provided Smith Driving Certification (eligible drivers only)<br>•The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations<br><br><strong>SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:</strong><br>•Must possess good interpersonal skills<br>•Good communications skills, both written and oral<br>•Ability to apply concepts of basic math<br>•Ability to manage time between two or more projects at one time.<br>•Ability to read and comprehend instructions and procedures<br>•Possess minimum ability to read a tape measure<br>•The ability to apply knowledge and skills to achieve intended results<br>•Must successfully complete company provided First Aid, CPR, AED, and Flagger training/certification<br>•If requested, must successfully complete company provided Forklift training/certification.
