    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUMMARY OF POSITION</span></p>\n<p>Kindred Construction is a General Contractor and Construction Manager looking for committed individuals who take pride in their work to perform carpentry and framing services for our multi-use and multi-family projects spread across the Lower Mainland. With a steady portfolio of residential and commercial new builds, paired with tenant improvements and institutional projects throughout the Lower Mainland, we are looking for long-term employees to join our team!</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform all on-site carpentry tasks, such as backing, blocking, formwork, and framing.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Site prep and hoarding installations.</li>\n<li>Building foundations, installing framing, and erecting walls.</li>\n<li>Fitting and installing doors, flooring, stairs, windows and baseboards.</li>\n<li>Maintaining, repairing, and renovating private homes and wooden or concrete structures.</li>\n<li>Reading blueprints and drawings, preparing calculations.</li>\n<li>Measuring, cutting and joining materials using wood/steel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to travel to various sites around Metro Vancouver.</li>\n<li>Carpentry ticket, L4 Apprentice, or acceptable level of on-the-job training.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of general construction duties - pump set up, use of tools, personal protection, etc.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous construction experience working on commercial, residential or tenant improvements.</li>\n<li>Ability to use small hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing devices, as well as equipment and materials applicable to the construction and carpentry trades.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of local building codes.</li>\n<li>Dedicated to quality and service and works productively with others.</li>\n<li>Ability to work outside in inclement weather; physically capable to working on your feet for 8 hours or more, lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs and carrying out physical tasks over extended periods.</li>\n<li>Any OFA training considered an asset and willingness to be trained a must.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive wages &amp; extended benefits after three months.</li>\n<li>Education allowances to support continued growth and career advancement.</li>\n<li>Commitment to keeping our people employed on a long-term and ongoing basis.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><em>Kindred Construction is an equal opportunity employer that does not tolerate discrimination in the workplace.
