Description

POSITION SUMMARY The team member in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Surveillance Officer (Level I) is responsible for monitoring the casino gaming floor and ancillary areas via a digital surveillance system. The Surveillance Officer (Level I) is also responsible for reporting any improprieties and irregularities to the appropriate management staff. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive for specific positions. Other reasonable duties may be assigned. 1. Work effectively and courteously with fellow team members. 2. Respond to calls requesting the need for surveillance coverage. 3. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members. 4. Ability to generate log entries, incident reports and audits containing all relevant, accurate information. 5. Observe, document, record and report any unusual or suspicious activities on property. 6. Ensure quality observations and investigations in the Surveillance Department on assigned shift. 7. Protect casino assets and gaming integrity through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on property, particularly on the gaming floor. 8. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, and ensure strict adherence to same throughout the property. 9. Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of all rules, regulations, odds and payouts of all current table games on the casino floor 10. Monitor all areas of the property at all times, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity for proper resolution. 11. Adhere to regulatory, departmental and Company policies in an ethical manner and require others to do the same. 12. Must pass all relevant departmental testing procedures with pre-determined standards. 13. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including nights, weekends and holidays; shifts may change based on business needs. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical/mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds without assistance • Must be able to sit for at least a full eight (8)-hour shift • Must be able to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp as needed • Must be able to view video in detail on monitors of various sizes and various distances • Must be able to communicate effectively by radio and telephone Mental Demands: • Must be able to maintain mental concentration for significant/extended periods of time • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task Work Environment: • Must be able to work in a smoking environment • Must be able to work in an environment exposed to bright lights, noise and changing temperatures MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Education: • High School Diploma or equivalent • 1 to 2 years of experience in a security or surveillance related field in a high volume casino environment or related experience is preferred. Knowledge: • Must be able to read and interpret various training manuals, Missouri Minimum Internal Control standards, company Internal Controls and departmental Standard Operating Procedures • Knowledge of standard and accepted Surveillance department methods and procedures required • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, mouse, and joystick recording equipment Other: • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Level 2 Missouri Gaming license • Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification relating to the position • Must complete all required departmental/company training.
