font-family: Circular, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, \"Segoe UI\", Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, \"Fira Sans\", \"Droid Sans\", \"Helvetica Neue\", sans-serif; font-size: 16px;'>Advancing opportunities for people with autism and other developmental disabilities through person-centered, evidence-based practices that strengthen skills, promote autonomy, and support meaningful participation in their communities.</p><div><h2><br></h2><h2 id=\"isPasted\">Day Habilitation Program Counselor</h2><p>&nbsp;</p><ol><li><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></li><li>High School Diploma or GED required&nbsp;</li><li>Work experience in driving routes.</li><li>Experience with driving children or adults with developmental disabilities preferred</li><li>Sensitivity to the needs of all consumers&nbsp;</li><li>Certification by the Department of Motor Vehicle, State of New York as to an acceptable driving record and valid driving credentials- valid driver&#39;s license</li><li>Strong command of verbal and written communication (English)</li><li>Approval, without restrictions, by the facility&rsquo;s insurance</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><ol start=\"3\"><li><h3><strong><em><u>Counselor</u></em></strong></h3></li></ol><ol><li>Responsible for implantation and collection of data of daily and weekly programs as assigned by Specialist for each consumer in assigned group</li></ol><ol start=\"2\"><li>Assists in any clerical work (i.e. daily attendance, requisitions, trip lists, graphing data)</li></ol><p>C<em>. &nbsp;&nbsp;</em>Implements weekly and daily programs to assist each consumer in attaining their individual goals</p><ol start=\"4\"><li>Documents consumers progress in increase and decrease programs on a daily basis (collects and graphs data)</li><li>Responsible for participating in behavior analysis training program</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><ol start=\"4\"><li><strong><u>Specific Responsibilities</u></strong></li></ol><ol><li>Directly responsible for transporting consumers as assigned by Transportation Coordinator</li><li>Responsible for transporting consumers from home to day program, and home again in safe, efficient manner</li><li>Responsible for driving consumers on all planned trips to community outings.</li><li>Promotes the safety and well being of adults and staff while transporting</li><li>Oversees all maintenance responsibilities for Day Habilitation vehicle(s) as assigned:</li></ol><p>-makes sure vehicle registration, inspection and insurance are current and necessary sticker, copies are on/in vehicle</p><p>-First Aid and Roadside Assistance kits in vehicle(s) and properly stocked</p><p>-remove any garbage from vehicle following each trip, clean any soiling (vomit, spills etc.)</p><p>-once a week, or more often if necessary, wash outside vehicle, wash all seats, interior walls, dashboard, railing and interior windows of vehicle(s)</p><ol start=\"6\"><li>Inspect vehicle before first scheduled departure and complete a Daily Vehicle Inspection Sheet and hand in to the Transportation Coordinator</li><li>Ensures Day Habilitation vehicles are in safe, operable, clean condition by ensuring proper maintenance.</li><li>Complete and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner.</li></ol><ol><li>Assist with training new drivers.</li><li>Assists in training new driving staff on Agency Vehicle Policy &amp; Procedures</li><li>Implements on-going preventative maintenance programs on agency vehicles</li><li>Attends on-going vehicle safety education/training</li><li>Coordinate the vehicle(s) repairs/maintenance visits with Transportation Coordinator and Repair Shop.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>5. &nbsp;
