We’re looking for an Equipment Operator to support excavation and dirt work using a variety of heavy equipment. This position<strong> r</strong>eports to the Project Foreman or Project Superintendent.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operate excavation/dirt equipment and wheeled or track skid loaders to complete assigned work safely and efficiently</li>\n <li>Perform daily pre-use inspections; lubricate and service equipment as needed</li>\n <li>Report equipment issues promptly and accurately</li>\n <li>Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs within your scope</li>\n <li>Follow all site safety requirements, policies, and procedures</li>\n <li>Support the construction crew with general duties when operator work is limited</li>\n <li>Help train and orient new employees as needed</li>\n <li>Participate in hiring/employment processes when requested</li>\n <li>Promote teamwork and positive, professional communication on site</li>\n <li>Attend site meetings and share updates/ideas as requested by the Project Superintendent</li>\n <li>Follow directions and work assignments from the Foreman or Project Superintendent with a sense of urgency</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to read and follow safety rules, warning signs, and site directions</li>\n <li>Ability to read construction drawings and understand job plans</li>\n <li>Comfortable taking measurements and working from grades/stakes</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of safe operation for the types of power construction equipment assigned</li>\n <li>Good judgement of distances, slopes, and surroundings</li>\n <li>Clear, respectful communication with coworkers and field leadership</li>\n <li>Ability to manage your time, stay organized, and respond to changing jobsite needs</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years of equipment operating experience (required)</li>\n <li>High school diploma or GED (preferred)</li>\n <li>Pass a pre-employment drug test</li>\n <li>Have reliable transportation</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work environment</strong></p>\n<p>This role is primarily outdoors in all types of weather. You may be exposed to heat, cold, dust, damp conditions, ice, precipitation, and mud.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p>\n<p>Must be able to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; reach, handle, and manipulate objects and materials; and lift/carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Ability to stand/walk and to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods is required.
