ERP is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability and Veteran.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p>\n<p>8 hour shifts. Sunday – Saturday from 0000-2359 hours, including weekend and holidays</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Core Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures/services as appropriate to the TO.  </li>\n <li>Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology</li>\n <li>Department policies and procedures.  </li>\n <li>Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.  </li>\n <li>Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.  </li>\n <li>Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists.  </li>\n <li>Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with MTF policy.  </li>\n <li>As directed, perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to the manufacturer and MTF policy.  </li>\n <li>Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values.  </li>\n <li>Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated Government personnel.  </li>\n <li>Report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and record the problem condition in the trouble call logbook.  </li>\n <li>Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which have direct bearing on the patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to contrast media and inform the radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention.  </li>\n <li>Recognize the need for and institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or respiratory arrest.  </li>\n <li>Correlate the patient's clinical history with the requested examination to be performed and obtain the results from previous pertinent diagnostic tests to correlate with the ultrasound study. </li>\n <li>Consult with staff physicians from a variety of specialties such as obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology and surgery regarding the patient's pertinent past medical history, preliminary diagnosis, and condition, so it correlates with the ultrasound examination. </li>\n <li>Recognize normal anatomic variants. Also, recognize anatomic changes created by medical and surgical procedures. </li>\n <li>Document arrival, departure, and completed tests as required by MTF policy. Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol. </li>\n <li>Perform system warm ups, calibrations and quality control tasks according to manufacturer and MTF policy. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values. </li>\n <li>Explain process to patients and instructs and assists patients in assuming physical position for examination. </li>\n <li>Assist in the compiling and archiving of records for procedures performed </li>\n <li>Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which have direct bearing on the patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to contrast media and inform the radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention. Recognize the need for and initiate emergency measures for critical situations such as respiratory or cardiac arrest. </li>\n <li>Identify abnormalities during testing and determine need for additional scans of affected area. </li>\n <li>Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasonic examinations as appropriate to the discipline. </li>\n <li>Performs a variety of routine and moderately complex diagnostic radiographic procedures including but not limited to temporomandibular joint studies (TMJ), and special localization films of foreign bodies of the eye, hand and foot. Takes all required eye films, for the purpose of locating foreign bodies such as glass, shrapnel, etc. </li>\n <li>Responsible for properly arriving, printing radiology worksheet, departing the patient electronic medical record and transfer of the scan to the medical Picture Archival Communication Systems (PACS) for review by the radiologist and responsible for the Quality Control Assessment and approval prior to release of the patient and transfer of the scan. Reports needed repairs to government supervisor in order to maintain equipment in proper working condition. </li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Degree: Certificate.  </strong><strong>Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> One year of experience within the last two years as a sonographer in the specialty area identified in the TO. \n  <ul>\n   <li>Basic computer skills. </li>\n   <li>Effective verbal and written communication skills. </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Certification:</strong> <strong>Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in the specialty identified in the TO.  </strong></li>\n <li><strong>General Knowledge:</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Knowledge of moderately complex radiographic procedures of the eye, skull, hand, foot, and facial features sufficient to perform such procedures. </li>\n   <li>Knowledge of radiographic equipment, to ascertain if malfunction or safety hazard is present and to ensure proper maintenance performed. </li>\n   <li>Knowledge of anatomy and physiology such as the structure, location, and function of major organs and the skeletal system in order to locate areas of study by using anatomical landmarks, to identify organs appearing on the film in order to determine the acceptability of the radiograph for diagnostic use, and to determine if standard positioning techniques might cause further pain or injury to patients. </li>\n   <li>Knowledge of radiation protection agency standards including radiation sensitive areas of the body and all protective devices and methods appropriate to the equipment and procedures used, in order to assure that adequate safeguards are maintained for patients and self and to reassure patients who may be unfamiliar X-ray safety procedures. </li>\n   <li>Requires long periods of standing and walking, to include bending, lifting and carrying moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs).  Positioning patients who are unconscious or disabled requires considerable effort and working in awkward positions. Occasionally, the lifting of totally incapacitated patients may require heavy lifting with assistance from fellow employees. Requires frequent physical movement for room and equipment setup during cases and between cases. </li>\n   <li>Requires BLS certification. </li>\n   <li>Requires a periodic radiation medical exam. </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><strong>Life Support Certification:</strong> Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.</li>\n <li><strong>Security</strong>: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Pay Scale: $51.31 - $59.00 per hour, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.</em></p>",
