We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you’ll be challenged to do:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you’ll support the oversight of complex infrastructure construction projects that improve mobility, safety, and quality of life. You’ll assist with coordinating inspection teams, working with contractors, and helping ensure compliance with standards and contract documents. Your work will contribute to the successful delivery of roads, bridges, and transit systems that support emergency access and economic growth.</p>\n<p>You’ll assist with project documentation, schedule monitoring, testing coordination, and stakeholder communication while supporting RFIs, pay estimates, and closeout activities to help keep projects moving forward.</p>\n<h2>In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide quality assurance support and technical guidance to inspection staff</li>\n <li>Assist with the review of monthly pay estimates submitted by contractors</li>\n <li>Prepare and review correspondence between contractors, clients, and project stakeholders</li>\n <li>Coordinate and oversee testing agencies and field testing activities</li>\n <li>Assist with maintaining accurate project records and documentation</li>\n <li>Facilitate responses to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs)</li>\n <li>Coordinate equipment and facility start-up activities</li>\n <li>Conduct and/or assist with construction meetings</li>\n <li>Support coordination of inspectors and on-site personnel</li>\n <li>Prepare and review change order documentation</li>\n <li>Assist Document Control staff with contractor schedule compliance tracking</li>\n <li>Prepare progress reports and assist with Substantial and Final Completion documentation</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<h3><strong>What you will bring to our firm:</strong></h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline</li>\n <li>Professional Engineer (PE) license (New York preferred) or one of the following\n  <ul>\n   <li>NICET Level IV certification</li>\n   <li>Meets ASCE Grade V</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Minimum of 8 years of relevant construction inspection and management including oversight of roadway/highway/bridge infrastructure projects</li>\n <li>Prior experience with NYSDOT, NYSTA, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, or Metro-North Railroad projects</li>\n <li>OSHA 30-hour certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire </li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Project Management Procedures (PMPs) and Project Management Guidelines (PMGs) preferred</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with contractors, owners, subconsultants, designers, and architects</li>\n <li>Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and construction schedules</li>\n <li>Physically able to work in the field, including navigating uneven terrain, climbing ladders, working at heights, and performing duties in various outdoor weather conditions; </li>\n <li>Availability for occasional night and weekend work</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to various sites</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Compensation:</strong></h3>\n<p>The salary range for this role is <strong>$120,000 - $140,000 per year</strong>.
