    "description": "<h2>Job Summary:</h2>\n<p>The <strong>AI Engineer</strong> will support the International Trade Administration (ITA) AI Center of Excellence (AI-CoE) by delivering end-to-end artificial intelligence solutions across the full system lifecycle. This role focuses on model development, data handling, deployment, optimization, and integration of AI capabilities within secure, cloud-based federal IT environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>*This position is contingent upon contract award.*</strong></p>\n<h2>Job Duties and Responsibilities: </h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, develop, test, and deploy AI and machine learning models.</li>\n <li>Manage data ingestion, preprocessing, validation, and feature engineering.</li>\n <li>Build, deploy, and maintain AI infrastructure and pipelines.</li>\n <li>Optimize model performance, scalability, and reliability.</li>\n <li>Automate workflows and integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems.</li>\n <li>Monitor models in production and implement continuous improvements.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with product owners, developers, and data teams in SAFe Agile environments.</li>\n <li>Ensure solutions align with federal security, compliance, and governance requirements.</li>\n <li>Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>U.S. Citizenship (required). Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI or higher background investigation.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li>\n <li>Minimum 2 years experience</li>\n <li>Experience across the AI system lifecycle including development and deployment.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with machine learning frameworks and programming languages.</li>\n <li>Experience working in Agile or SAFe delivery environments.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Desired Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree in a technical field.</li>\n <li>Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.</li>\n <li>Experience supporting federal or public-sector IT programs.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of AI governance, ethics, and security best practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Work Location: Remote preferred with occasional on-site support in Washington, DC, as required.</p>\n<p>This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
