You collaborate closely with Platform, Infrastructure, and SRE teams, and you&#8217;re comfortable integrating infrastructure work with CI/CD and GitOps workflows while communicating clearly with stakeholders.</p><p><br><strong>What You&#8217;ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Plan and execute the migration of Istio service mesh deployments from IstioOperator-based configurations to Helm-managed installations across production EKS clusters.</li><li>Ensure zero-downtime upgrades, preserving traffic routing, security policies, and observability configurations.</li><li>Design and implement safe migration strategies, including rollback and failure recovery procedures.</li><li>Troubleshoot complex Kubernetes networking and service mesh issues, including Envoy proxy behavior and traffic management policies.</li><li>Work closely with platform teams to integrate service mesh deployments into existing CI/CD and GitOps workflows.</li><li>Support production-grade traffic management patterns, including canary releases and gradual traffic shifting.</li><li>Create and maintain documentation, migration guides, and runbooks for operating the upgraded service mesh.</li><li>Provide knowledge transfer to internal engineering teams to ensure long-term ownership and maintainability.</li><li>Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders throughout the engagement.</li></ul><p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of hands-on experience operating&#160;<strong>Kubernetes in production environments</strong>.</li><li>Deep expertise with&#160;<strong>Istio service mesh</strong>, including migrations from legacy deployment patterns to modern approaches.</li><li>Strong understanding of&#160;<strong>Helm</strong>, including templating, dependency management, and release lifecycle practices.</li><li>Experience operating&#160;<strong>AWS EKS clusters</strong>&#160;and related networking components, including&#160;<strong>load balancers, ingress, and CNI plugins</strong>&#160;such as&#160;<strong>Cilium</strong>.</li><li>Advanced troubleshooting skills for&#160;<strong>distributed systems</strong>, using observability tools such as&#160;<strong>Prometheus, Grafana, and tracing systems</strong>.</li><li>Proven ability to execute&#160;<strong>complex infrastructure migrations</strong>&#160;with minimal service disruption.</li><li>English proficiency at B2+ level or higher.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Familiarity with CNCF ecosystem tooling and GitOps-based deployment models.</li><li>Experience integrating service mesh architectures into CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.</li></ul>",
