Our mandate is set by three frameworks:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>Honouring Our Strengths: A Renewed Framework to Address Substance Use Issues Among First Nations People in Canada</li>\n<li>Indigenous Wellness Framework</li>\n<li>First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our core stakeholders are First Nations communities and the network of First Nations adult and youth treatment centres. To support the mandate, Thunderbird has two office locations, one based in a First Nations community in southwestern Ontario, and the other in the city of London, Ontario. This position is a hybrid work position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your Opportunity</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Resource and Publication Designer is responsible for the production of the organization’s training print materials.</li>\n<li>You will work with the Creative Lead, the Communications team and the Training department to produce a variety of facilitator and participant guidebooks.</li>\n<li>You will be familiar with best practices that can be utilized to create logical and engaging materials as per Thunderbird's Visual Style Guide.</li>\n<li>You will work on a team with others who are also dedicated to work that has real value and meaning in the lives of others.</li>\n<li>You will apply experience, skills, talents, and passion for the benefit of others while learning from the expertise of a wellness focused team.</li>\n<li>You will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that this opportunity is much more than just a job.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>As the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation Resource and Publication Designer you will</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>assist in the design and execution process of curriculum-based projects.</li>\n<li>develop innovative workflows which are practical, aesthetically appealing and meet functional goals in accordance with the Visual Style Guide in Adobe InDesign.</li>\n<li>produce clean, effective layouts in a timely manner.</li>\n<li>champion the integrity of the product through all project stages, including design, layout and typography, project management, workflow and production.</li>\n<li>resolve project performance issues and problems including ongoing review of projects.</li>\n<li>undertake project management and organization of multiple projects and deadline prioritization in a cross-functional environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You bring</p>\n<ul>\n<li>a certificate or equivalent in graphic design and four (4) years of graphic design work experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>OR</p>\n<p>a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and two (2) years of graphic design work experience.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word for print production of long document format educational materials (facilitator and participant guidebooks).</li>\n<li>the skills to manage competing deadlines and coordination amongst teams.</li>\n<li>the ability to focus on multiple projects, prioritize work duties and meet tight deadlines.</li>\n<li>excellent planning, organizational and follow-up skills.</li>\n<li>excellent knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word.</li>\n<li>familiarity with best practices to create appealing, dynamic, and engaging products.</li>\n<li>knowledge of First Nations traditions and customs, which is considered a definite asset.</li>\n<li>a commitment to uphold the First Nations defined principles of Ownership, Control, Access and Possession in line with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in relation to the inclusion of Indigenous Knowledge, intellectual knowledge and intellectual property in the development of products.</li>\n<li>fluency in a First Nations language, which is considered a definite asset.</li>\n<li>a level of comfort working on bilingual design projects (English and French).</li>\n<li>the ability to function autonomously, to be flexible and adapt to change.</li>\n<li>a high level of professionalism and are able to always maintain confidentiality.</li>\n<li>the ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Additionally, all employees of Thunderbird Partnership Foundation must adhere to a strict confidentiality policy and will be required to sign an Oath of Confidentiality and observe the Code of Ethics Policy.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Thunderbird Partnership Foundation (NNAPF)<br>22361 Austin Line</p>\n<p>Bothwell, ON N0P 1C0</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>211 Adelaide St S,</p>\n<p>London, ON N5Z 3K7</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br>Closing date:</span> Open until filled.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We value the importance of diversity and dignity in the workplace and are committed to developing inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection processes and work environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you require accommodation during the recruitment and selection process, please let us know.
