We invite experienced APPs to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds and visionaries together.</p>\n<p>Atrium Health announces a new hospital-employed opportunity for an<strong> experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join Sanger Heart &amp; Vascular Institute’s Vascular Surgery Team.&nbsp; </strong>This person will function in both the hospital and clinic setting, taking care of a broad spectrum of vascular medical conditions. There is opportunity to also assist our vascular surgeons in the operating room with routine and complex vascular procedures.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments</li>\n <li>Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care</li>\n <li>Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications</li>\n <li>Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations</li>\n <li>Determines treatment plan for patient</li>\n <li>Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record</li>\n <li>Acts as a patient advocate for the population served</li>\n <li>Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested</li>\n <li>Weekend and shared call&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Education, Experience and Certifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 1 years of experience in the PA or NP role in an acute care setting preferred</li>\n <li>Completed an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant or acute care nurse practitioner program</li>\n <li>Both basic and advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support</li>\n <li>Experience with first assisting in the OR preferred but not required</li>\n <li>Board Certification by appropriate board</li>\n <li>Superb communication skills, and a passion for program development and collaboration</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><i>Sanger Heart &amp; Vascular Institute is one of the Southeast's largest cardiac and vascular programs providing the highest quality care available to patient with cardiovascular disease throughout North and South Carolina.
