Our trading desks cover a variety of products – mainly power, gas, oil, coal, and certificates – across 20 countries and 12 energy exchanges.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Position Overview</p>\n<p>We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Full-Stack/Backend Engineer to drive the design, development, and optimization of our data systems and user-facing applications. In this strategic role, you will lead technical projects that span robust backend architectures and modern frontend interfaces, ensuring efficient data processing and an exceptional user experience. You will collaborate closely with traders, fellow engineers, and mentor junior team members as you help shape the technical future of our commodity trading platforms.<br><br><br>Key Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Backend Architecture &amp; Data Processing\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, maintain, and optimize complex data architectures including databases (e.g., Vertica, PostgreSQL, Redis) and large-scale processing systems.</li>\n<li>Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines, workflow management, and ETL systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and uniformity.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with data scientists to feed machine learning algorithms and analytical reports, enhancing decision-making processes.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Full-Stack Development &amp; Frontend Integration\n<ul>\n<li>Architect and build scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs that seamlessly integrate with modern frontend applications.</li>\n<li>Design, develop, and test UI components for web and mobile platforms using frameworks such as Vue.js or React.</li>\n<li>Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, optimize for maximum speed and scalability, and implement real-time data visualization (using Charting Libraries/D3.js or Plotly.js and WebSockets).</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Leadership &amp; Collaboration\n<ul>\n<li>Lead technical projects by mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.</li>\n<li>Work cross-functionally with stakeholders and team members in a fast-paced environment to translate business and user needs into robust technical solutions.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Performance &amp; Quality Assurance\n<ul>\n<li>Establish and implement best practices to enhance system reliability, performance, and data quality.</li>\n<li>Proactively identify process improvements and drive initiatives that optimize operational efficiency and cost management (especially within AWS environments).<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Qualifications</p>\n<p><em>Must-Have:</em></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).</li>\n<li>Experience: Minimum of 5 years in backend or full-stack development with a proven track record of leading technical projects, including 5 years of hands-on Python experience.
