    "description": "<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>GFT</strong> is seeking an <strong>Automation and Control Technician (Panel shop)  </strong>to join our <strong>Building and Places Business Group in Mechanicsburg PA! </strong></p>\n<p>This role follows requiring regular attendance at our <strong>Mechanicsburg PA </strong>office.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you’ll be challenged to do:</strong></p>\n<p>This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated <strong>Entry Level</strong> <strong>Automation and Control Technician </strong>who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>PLC programming using IEC 61131 standards</li>\n <li>Understanding and translation of PLC control and hardwired relay panel design drawings and BOMs</li>\n <li>Knowledge of all major communication and I/O protocols</li>\n <li>HMI programming development</li>\n <li>Ability to understand control narratives and translate into field programming</li>\n <li>Conduct factory and field testing of automation systems</li>\n <li>Panel fabrication in a UL certified environment</li>\n <li>Field wiring & troubleshooting experience for small to complex control systems</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>What you will bring to our firm: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum Associates Degree in engineering or related technical discipline.</li>\n <li>Progressive experience in automation and controls</li>\n <li>Understanding the creation of quality technical solutions and the design delivery of major automation projects.</li>\n <li>Must be familiar with UL 508A standards</li>\n <li>Familiar with AB Rockwell Automation, GE, Modicon, and Control Microsystems PLC platforms </li>\n <li>Familiar with GE, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware HMI / SCADA  and OIT platforms</li>\n <li>Familiar with Win911, RACO alarm dialer systems</li>\n <li>Familiar with RSLinx, Kepserver, Archestra </li>\n <li>Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word </li>\n <li>Familiar with Microsoft SQL server </li>\n <li>Familiar with Autodesk AutoCAD and modeling applications</li>\n <li>Ability to be onsite and travel to client locations as project assignments require in the central PA region. </li>\n <li>Strong communication skills </li>\n <li>Will regularly interface with clients and multidisciplinary project team members</li>\n <li>Must have a positive attitude to excellence, continual improvement, and innovation</li>\n <li>Must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Must be proficient using electrical hand tools including multi meters and have industrial control system trouble shooting skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What we prefer you bring: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Industrial networking, routing, and firewalls is a plus</li>\n <li>Server architecture and database experience is a plus</li>\n <li>Studio5000</li>\n <li>FactoryTalk Suite</li>\n <li>VMWare / Docker</li>\n <li>OHSA safety training is a plus</li>\n <li>Familiar with GMP ISO area restrictions a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p>\n<p>The range for this position is salary range is $55,000 - $75,000.
