    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Youth Engagement Specialist</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>ABOUT US</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families in the Washington DC area. The agency includes 19 programs ranging from shelter for homeless youth to service-enriched transitional housing to street outreach, as well as a variety of counseling interventions using a competency-based youth development approach. <strong>This is a Part-Time weekend only position that is Saturday and Sunday 3 to 11 PM EST</strong>.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree preferred with specialty in psychology, counseling, or social work</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must have at least 3-5 years of experience working with youth with significant mental health or behavioral challenges, preferably in a residential care setting</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be a creative, energetic, problem-solver, with a passion for working with young people Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a part-time, non-exempt level position with an overnight schedule</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">All candidates must possess a valid Driver&rsquo;s License, clean driving record; and Obtain and pass required background clearances</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to transport staff and/or clients, as needed</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>ABOUT THE JOB</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform &ldquo;rounds&rdquo; in and outside of the building to adequately engage with youth in their home environment, facilitate activities, provide counseling and support, and encourage adherence to community rules</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Providing crisis intervention and on-site counseling to residents when necessary and appropriate</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain supervision of the house, enforce house rules and ensure house safety. Makes regular inspections inside the building, in the area immediately outside the building and check individual rooms and apartments routinely</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with managing conflict between residents; de-escalate and help residents reach compromise, document all incidents</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">As needed, coordinate with medical or government personnel to assist in managing resident&rsquo;s needed; engage Program Manager, complete required documentation including Unusual Incidents forms in compliance with agency policy</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Demonstrate proficiency in the ability to safely and efficiently carry out various emergency procedures in the case of fire, an illness, accident, etc. as well as drills to prepare or prevent such incidents</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Complete paperwork or data entry needs as directed by the Program Manager including 30-minute increment log of community rounds and resident activities</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Produce specific, legible, concise handwritten notes and documentation, including house inspections, observations of non-verbal client behavior, direct or indirect contact with clients, any unusual incidents, house logs etc. that occur during your shift</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Demonstrating proficiency in the ability to safely and efficiently carry out emergency fire evacuation and other various emergency procedures in the case of an illness or accident or in drills to prepare or prevent such incidents</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Providing administrative office coverage, answering and providing thorough written documentation detailing the nature and purpose of all phone calls and visitors; maintaining supervision of the house and residents, and ensuring house rules are being followed to ensure the safety and security of the facility</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">At times, perform light janitorial duties such as sweep, mop, taking-out trash.
