We are a place where you can belong and become. <strong>We are genuine:</strong> we value you and embrace your individuality. <strong>We are hopeful</strong>: we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world. <strong>We are nurturing</strong>: we support you in your journey to develop your full potential. <strong>We are determined</strong>: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>*Candidates who are not certified may be hired at at a $15.00 training rate then increased after becoming certified.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Enforce all posted rules and any other rules that are required to ensure the safety of all participants.</li>\n <li>Teach swim lessons to participants at appropriate age levels, per national guidelines of course levels and ratios.</li>\n <li>Plan lessons for classes, be well prepared for lesson.</li>\n <li>Responsible for set up and tear down of lessons (includes all utilized equipment).</li>\n <li>Take attendance at all classes.</li>\n <li>Responsible for updating all areas and certifications through the YMCA training certification program as needed for position.</li>\n <li>Responsible to assist in the cleanliness of the pool and reporting any maintenance needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 16 years of age.</li>\n <li>National CPR, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen and YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor certification.  Not certified? No problem — we provide <strong>free training and certification!</strong></li>\n <li>Must pass skills test that includes:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Tread water for two minutes.</li>\n   <li>Demonstrate Stage 5 proficiency in at least four of the following six strokes by swimming 25 yards of each: Front Crawl, Breaststroke, Sidestroke, Butterfly, Elementary Backstroke, and Backstroke.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Must be able to relate and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.</li>\n</ul>",
