We are looking for people that are self-starters, and people that like making a difference in an organization through change and innovation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Buyer will play a pivotal role in the procurement and supply of necessary materials, parts, tooling, and general supplies used in the manufacturing process, primarily supporting the maintenance team. In addition, they will strive to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts at the lowest possible cost. They will also actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are achieved. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for purchasing maintenance and engineering related parts and supplies at all assigned plants</li>\n <li>Primary point of contact for purchasing requests from the Maintenance Department</li>\n <li>Manage requisition system: send quotes, enter pricing, and issue purchase orders that meet the needs of internal customers while emphasizing cost reduction.  </li>\n <li>Ensure delivery terms meet company production demands, while maintaining accurate and sufficient lead times.</li>\n <li>Proactively follow up on open orders and communicate any delays to stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Develop and sustain strong supplier relationships to enable clear communication, prompt issue resolution, and consistent service performance</li>\n <li>Contribute as team member to department improvement projects.</li>\n <li>Assist with the cycle counting program at Forming facility</li>\n <li>Collaborate with department managers, engineers and operations staff.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve any issues related to delivery, receiving, and payment to the vendor</li>\n <li>Maintain purchasing systems and vendor files in accordance with compliance policies.</li>\n <li>Manage relevant vendor issue resolution (delivery, SCARs, returns, credits etc.)</li>\n <li>Support continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.</li>\n <li>Provide support and PTO coverage for the Purchasing Team</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as assigned by management.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in relevant field required</li>\n <li>Minimum of 1 year purchasing or manufacturing related experience .</li>\n <li>Must be comfortable with working within a manufacturing environment and engaging with machine operators or maintenance employees at their work centers.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs </li>\n <li>Effective time management skills with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks under the pressure of deadlines.</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to travel in between plant facility locations</li>\n <li>Requires ability and interest in working in a team-oriented environment.</li>\n <li>Requires effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization</li>\n <li>Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of the position described and is not intended to be a detailed description of all the work that may be required.
