          "text": "<p>The <strong>Municipal Engineer – Major Projects</strong> is a senior-level civil engineering role supporting the delivery of large-scale transportation and municipal infrastructure programs in <strong>Vancouver, BC, Canada</strong>. Reporting to a Project Manager, the position is embedded within multidisciplinary Major Projects teams delivering complex roadway and municipal systems across provincial and municipal jurisdictions.</p><p>The role focuses on civil roadway and municipal infrastructure design for major projects, including provincial highway facilities and municipal roadways, across preliminary and detailed design phases. Project scope includes freeways, interchanges, intersections, urban and rural roadways, and integrated coordination with water, wastewater, drainage, and utility systems. The position contributes technical leadership across design development, documentation, and quality control.</p><p>The ideal candidate brings extensive experience delivering MTO and municipal transportation projects, strong technical authority in roadway and municipal systems, and the ability to guide junior engineers while maintaining client and stakeholder relationships in a regulated public infrastructure environment.</p><ul><li>Reporting to the Project Manager, the Municipal Engineer, Major Projects, will be responsible for supporting the overall success of Major Projects in Canada.</li><li>Acting as a Transportation engineer for both provincial MTO highways, local Municipal Roadways in both preliminary and detail design components of major projects.</li><li>Lead and Manage the civil roadway components of major projects from inception to completion (this could include, but is not limited to, highway facilities ranging from freeways, urban and rural multi-lane and two-lane facilities, interchanges, and intersections. These elements would also include incorporating data from other disciplines including watermain, storm and sanitary services/mains, as well as supporting wet and dry utilities and drainage improvements).</li><li>Providing technical guidance, support, and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff working on your projects.</li><li>Preparing technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantity estimates, and cost estimates.</li><li>Creating and reviewing / performing quality control checks on plans, profiles, and design quantities in Civil 3D/InRoads/Open Roads Design format.</li><li>Completing initial site inspections/field work for design assignments.</li><li>Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.&#xa0;</li><li>Keeping current on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/civil 3D / Microstation / InRoads / Open Roads Design in consultation with senior CAD staff.&#xa0;</li></ul>",
