Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: Operate and maintain assigned line to maintain safety, quality and productivity. Including such activities as prepping for roll production, doffing rolls, packaging rolls, line start-ups, operational maintenance and cleaning. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Actively participate in risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility. Actively participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and support implemented corrective actions. Participate in safety observation programs as required. Create and maintain a team effort attitude and team approach within the department and plant, Operate and Maintain Line to established standards Meet productivity standards Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures. Complete required documentation such as: patrols, housekeeping sheets, doff quality coding, etc. Troubleshoot issues with quality or productivity related to the team or the machine Make adjustments to machinery as needed. Suggest improvements to processes or procedures Coordinate with lab personnel, Team Leader and Engineering for issues and improvements Perform 6S and other housekeeping duties required for clean and safe work environment Train others as needed Additional duties as assigned Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: HS Diploma Experience in a manufacturing facility (preferably textiles or roll goods) strongly desired. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard office machines and computer software including MS Office Suite- Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. General understanding of machinery and tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with building occupants, contractors, and management COMPETENCIES: Active Learner: Able to identify own development and learning needs. Can quickly apply new learning. Eager and willing to take on new challenges- looks for areas of cross training and skill building. Able to apply new learning effectively. Flexibility/Adaptability: Reacts favorably to changes and new information. Is able to respond positively to new situations, tasks, people and environment. Perseverance: Can identify what needs to be done to meet quota, goals or objectives. Can advance or push ahead in the face of adversity or challenges. Can remain positive. Rigorous: Ensures accuracy and is able to monitor the quality of work and processes while still meeting demands /commitments. Can perform tasks consistently and conscientiously. Teamwork: Can collaborate, idea share, listen and be a member of a team while being respectful of others. Assumes responsibility for own commitments and actions. Shares knowledge & experience with team members. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects or tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear, smell. The employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently climb up to three levels above floor level. Work environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; humidity, odors. The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas. The employee is frequently exposed to extremely high-speed machinery with open inward turning rolls, extremely hot surface areas and moving lift truck traffic.
