Description

Community Support Services of Missouri (CSS) has been in operation since 1978 supporting children and adults with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities. Our mission is to foster and promote maximum independence, quality of life, personal growth, health and safety for the individuals we serve. At CSS we strive each day to live out our ABLE Core Value: Above and Beyond, Better Together, Lead Intentionally, and Empower Everyone. Position Summary This is a seasonal position working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals may be behaviorally challenged. Please note that this temporary position runs from July 6th through August 7th. Additionally, there is required training scheduled for June 24th and 25th. Essential Functions Maintain personal care and provide physical assistance for individuals. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the camp participants. Supervise and facilitate camp participants community participation and integration. Provide positive verbal reassurance, reinforcement, and encouragement to campers in all situations. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Dependable and self-motivated Good verbal communication skills Demonstrate positive team interaction skills Resourceful in accomplishing tasks and directives Ability to be flexible in all areas Make defensible, common sense decisions Ability to work as a team member. Required Education HS Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as well as proof of current auto insurance is required. Must have dependable transportation with functioning heat and air conditioning systems and fully functioning seat belts for safety. Must pass all required federal, state and agency required background checks. Obtain and maintain all required training, including but not limited to, CPR, First Aid Training, and ABA principals and implementation techniques in accordance with CSS policy. Prefer one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities. Physical Requirements All employees should possess the ability to: Lift 50 pounds or more on a repeated basis as required. Potentially bend, stoop, kneel, and twist repeatedly. Operate any required equipment with good dexterity. Traverse changing terrain. Periodically alternate between standing, sitting, and walking.
