    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\">The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a <strong>Manager, Health Promotions.&nbsp;</strong>Working as a member of the <strong>Health Promotions and Education</strong> department, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Manager, Health Promotions will manage, implement, and evaluate lung health programs throughout Illinois and other assigned territories and implement grants, outreach activities, and signature programs. This program will manage the day-to-day work of the statewide Comprehensive Lung Health in Supported Housing Initiative, the Asthma in Schools initiative, and other assigned projects. This position supports statewide efforts to work with public housing, health department, and health provider partners to reduce tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure, increase access to vaccinations, and improve indoor air quality to improve lung health for youth and adults living in public housing across Illinois and supports statewide efforts to work with school and early childhood learning locations to create and implement policies and practices that reduce the burden of childhood asthma and reduce exposure to environmental contaminants at school and will supervise project staff. This is a 100% grant-funded role.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Location: Chicago, Illinois</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Hybrid: The position is located at the American Lung Association&rsquo;s Chicago, IL office and will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual work.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0.25in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Oversee the successful implementation of assigned grant funded projects including:&nbsp;<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><li>Providing supervision, coaching, and leadership to project staff</li><li>Ensure all funding deliverables are met with exceptional outcomes</li><li>Monitoring and approving expenses and submitting project invoices</li><li>Leading the coordination and submission of grant proposals and project reporting&nbsp;</li><li>Cultivating and maintaining professional relationships with assigned funders</li><li>Using best practice evaluation protocols to measure program outcomes and make program improvements.</li></ul></li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Implement deliverables and scopes of work for assigned projects to meet or exceed funder and Lung Association expectations.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Build, maintain and cultivate relationships with volunteers, coalitions, funders, facilitators, and community partners to encourage program delivery, sustainability, and program growth across assigned territories.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Identify and source funding opportunities that will support program and mission efforts in assigned territories.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Attend and participate in community outreach and development events to raise the profile of the American Lung Association.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Serve on internal workgroups and committees as requested.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop and submit timely reports as required by the Lung Association and funders.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Represent the Association as a member of local and/or statewide health coalitions and organizations related to the ALA&rsquo;s mission.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Seek opportunities to grow and expand the mission footprint.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Select and participate in local, state, and national learning opportunities designed to increase skills and knowledge related to job requirements.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"margin-left: 0.25in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in public health or related field.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">At least 3 years of experience in public health, community relations, public policy, or related field.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience in coalition building, developing and implementing community awareness, education, and programs specifically related to areas of public health.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience in managing, implementing, and evaluating programs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and oral.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Able to work with minimum direct supervision, make decisions, and take initiative.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships across a diverse population.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends with some overnights required. Must have a valid Driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Required to travel statewide to provide technical assistance and attend meetings and conferences as required by assigned grants.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Consistent with its mission, the American Lung Association maintains a smoke-free workplace; all employees must abstain from tobacco use in any form, including vaping.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Compensation:</strong> Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
