Position Description Summary/Purpose : This position assists with the daily operations of the Registrar's Office. The Registration Coordinator is responsible for setting up and managing the registration process each semester. This position requires confidentiality, a can-do attitude, and an exceptional work ethic. Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities : (The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.) Identify registration dates in alignment with the university calendar Establish registration schedules within the student database Conduct daily course reconciliations Manage the adding, swapping, dropping, and withdrawal of student courses and university withdrawals in accordance with Title IV regulations Process notifications for cancelled courses Oversee the prerequisite overrides process Prepare the annual prerequisite list Assist the Registrar and Assistant Registrar in the preparation for audits Manage waitlist notifications and facilitate student registration for waitlisted classes Support student registration for the Hartford Consortium Collaborate with academic departments as needed Assist with graduation tasks. Other Functions Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort. Knowledge, Ability and Skill : Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity Requires cognitive ability to prioritize duties and flexibility to manage different responsibilities at once Need for adaptability, professionalism and confidence in decision-making Organizational skills are essential Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently, collaboratively and under tight deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and related documents Proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft Suite and student databases. Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree Minimum 3 years of experience in higher education, Title IV, or related field preferred.
