Description

Description Anoka County District Court has a great opportunity to join the Criminal Intake Team as a Court Operations Associate in a diverse professional environment, that promotes equity for all court staff and court users. This is an entry-level position performing detail-oriented work while providing excellent customer service in the courtroom, public counters and over the phone. Court Operations Associates work individually and as part of a team using independent judgment, along with available resources to perform a variety of administrative assignments. This role requires dedication to providing customers with a professional court experience, an eye for detail, excellent communication, time management, and technological skills to match our high-performing environment. Extensive training is provided, and knowledge is gained through on-the-job experience. Example of Duties What You Will Do Work includes processing electronically filed and paper filed documents; assisting customers who are appearing for criminal and juvenile related cases; working directly with customers in the courtroom, public counter and over the phone. Court Operations Associates rotate through these areas as needed and must be flexible as to assignment and attention to detail. The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position: Performs independently the full scope of varied clerical court work relating to criminal, juvenile and traffic case processing on the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), Microsoft Office, electronic File and Serve, E-Charging, SharePoint and other related computer systems. Determines processing required and takes necessary action in accordance with court rules and procedures. Provides customer service regarding case outcomes, court procedures, forms and documents, and court dates over the phone, via email, in the courtroom, and at the front counter. Assists judges and chambers staff, police officers, attorneys, and probation agents with record dissemination and requests for documents or other information. Performs clerical duties in the courtroom while court is in session, on all types of calendars. Images court documents; checking scanned documents for proper document type and security classifications and ensuring all pages are scanned properly and are legible. Assures confidentiality in compliance with statutes and court rules. Reviews legal documents for completeness, adequacy, accuracy, and compliance with statutes and rules. Determines proper routing of complaints, petitions and other filings; notify parties. Perform financial activities within the office including but not limited to assessing and receipting fines/fees, reconciling daily receipting. May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including setting up and testing recording equipment and recording and monitoring court proceedings. Reviews Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) and other reports and implements appropriate corrective actions. Other administrative duties as assigned. One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative or office work. Additional education may substitute for experience. Nice to Have: Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and cases appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes. Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity and apply knowledge of specific laws, statutes, rules, policies, and procedures related to the area of assignment Knowledge of the organization, operation, function, and jurisdiction of the court. Supplemental Information: The Criminal Intake Division is located on the 1st floor in the Anoka County Courthouse at 2100 3rd Ave. Anoka, MN 55303. Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom with considerable public contact, in person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This AFSCME-represented position is posted for bidding, internal, and external application simultaneously and will be filled in accordance with the AFSCME contract. The expected hiring range for external hires for this position is $22.50 to $28.45, based on qualifications, with a full future earning potential of $46,980 - $73,999 annually.
