Additionally, they oversee safety training programs, emergency planning, and safety review meetings to promote a culture of safety and ensure legal compliance within the mining operation. * Key Responsibilities of Role Site Safety Officer - Mining Safety Compliance Management: Monitor and enforce the implementation of safety norms in accordance with DGMS regulations to ensure safe mining operations, with a focus on mitigating risks associated with coal dust, electrical hazards, fire, and other specific safety concerns. Track and address concerns raised during safety audits by DGMS, striving for zero non-conformities and continuous improvement in safety standards. Maintain meticulous records and documentation to ensure zero instances of non-compliance with DGMS guidelines and statutory requirements, conducting regular safety review meetings to assess and address any deviations. Safety Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) exercises to identify potential hazards within the mine, including risks related to coal dust, electrical systems, fire, and other specific safety concerns.
