Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Leader – Portland Division Are you passionate about creating a safe and sustainable workplace? Join Pioneer Metal Finishing, North America’s leading surface engineering company, as our EHS Leader in the Portland Division. In this role, you’ll champion a culture of safety, lead environmental compliance efforts, and help ensure our team operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible environment. What You’ll Do: Partner with our Corporate Safety & Environmental Leader to implement and maintain safety and environmental programs that meet federal, state, and local regulations. Lead training initiatives to educate employees and supervisors on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices. Promote and enforce a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the organization Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations at the federal, state, and local levels Develop, implement, and deliver EHS policies, procedures, and training programs Lead incident investigations and partner with HR on workers' compensation, return-to-work, and modified duty programs Monitor and respond to physical, chemical, and biological hazards, developing action plans to reduce risk. Conduct audits, maintain records, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards. Serve as a key contact for regulatory agencies and support emergency response planning. Supervise the divisional pollution control team and collaborate with HR on training, performance, and return-to-work programs. Drive monthly safety meetings and promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent industrial experience. 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory requirements Industrial wastewater experience or education preferred. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance. Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to lead, coach, and collaborate across departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Exposure to sharp tools, heavy carts, heat, noise, and chemicals. Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs unassisted. Use of PPE required in certain areas.
