Are you committed to delivering an excellent experience for guests? As a <strong>Co-Store Director</strong>, you are a strategic partner to the Store Director and a key leader in the overall performance of the store. You help guide the full store team, support daily operations, and ensure a consistent, high-quality guest and team member experience.</p>\n<h2>What You'll Do:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Model and promote our values of passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork in every interaction. </li>\n <li>Serve as a visible, accessible leader on the sales floor, supporting team members and engaging with guests. </li>\n <li>Recruit, hire, and develop team members, building a strong pipeline of future leaders. </li>\n <li>Oversee sales departments (Produce & Floral, Meat & Seafood, Bakery, Deli & CMS, and Center Store) to ensure merchandising, signage, and assortment reflect local guest needs and our brand standards.</li>\n <li>Manage key financial areas, including sales, gross margin, labor planning, inventory control, and shrink reduction.</li>\n <li>Partner with department managers to ensure effective ordering, scheduling, and workload planning.</li>\n <li>Maintain full compliance with food safety, sanitation, risk management, and all regulatory requirements. </li>\n <li>Serve as a brand ambassador, representing The Fresh Market with hospitality and professionalism in the store and local community. </li>\n <li>Build strong relationships with guests, responding to questions, resolving concerns, and modeling guest recovery.</li>\n <li>Engage with local organizations, vendors, and partners to strengthen the store’s presence in the community.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Availability:</h2>\n<p>This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.  </p>\n<h2>Qualifications:</h2>\n<p><strong>At a minimum, what you’ll need:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>5+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hospitality, or general business</li>\n <li>Demonstrated success overseeing multiple departments or store-wide operations</li>\n <li>Strong financial acumen with the ability to achieve sales, margin, labor, and operational goals</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills</li>\n <li>Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite</li>\n <li>Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain after hire</li>\n <li>Must be 21 years of age or older</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li>\n <li>Experience leading in a grocery or high-volume specialty retail environment</li>\n <li>Proven success in developing strong teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences</li>\n <li>Bilingual skills a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical and Work Conditions</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Repetitive hand/arm movements, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.</li>\n <li>Exposure to extreme temperatures.</li>\n <li>Use of tools and equipment such as knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, and pallet jacks.</li>\n <li>Standing or walking for long periods (up to 4 hours or as required by law).</li>\n <li>Required use of approved hats, hair nets, beard guards, and personal protective equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:</h2>\n<p><em>The Fresh Market is a proud, equal-opportunity employer that is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.</em>  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Reasonable Accommodation: Consistent with applicable laws, The Fresh Market will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants and team members, unless doing so would result in an undue hardship to The Fresh Market.
