Description

Perform daily routine and ad hoc security functions, including but not limited to maintenance, administration, deployment, and testing of typical IT security tools. Typical tools include anti-virus, intrusion detection systems (IDS), SIEM, endpoint protection and encryption tools, vulnerability and patch management deployment tools, and penetration testing tools. Support the agency’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program. Required Skills: • Experience configuring and administering anti-virus, IDS, penetration testing, and patch management tools. • Knowledge of current server operating system platforms such as Microsoft Windows and Unix. • Knowledge of current database platforms such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. • Knowledge of firewall design and implementation. Page 17 of 4 • Knowledge of typical CDM, SIEM and security analysis tools including Splunk, Tenable/Nessus, BigFix, and ForeScout. Job Duties: • Coordinate IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management. • Configure and administer security operations tools such as intrusion detection systems, anti-virus solution, patch management solution, and penetration testing tools. • Responsible for all aspects of tool installation and maintenance, including but not limited to design, implementation, installation, configuration, administration, testing, and integration. • Generate and distribute formal documentation from these tools, including security dashboards/reports, patch compliance reports, training and user manuals. • Establish configurations that ensure event notifications are distributed to the proper management and support staff. • Work with security assurance and authorization analysts on penetration testing/vulnerability assessment tool configurations to support the SA&A tasks. • Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies. • Provide training for system products and procedures.
