    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System.</li>\n <li>Design and/or analyze pressurized mechanical systems for hydraulics, pneumatics, and seawater to meet requirements such as flow, pressure drop, thermal, and acoustic signature.</li>\n <li>Part of a team that develops submarine shipboard alterations.</li>\n <li>Learn while working with an experienced engineering staff.</li>\n <li>Conduct static analysis of mechanical structures.</li>\n <li>Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions.</li>\n <li>Develop models to predict performance.</li>\n <li>Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications.</li>\n <li>Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products.</li>\n <li>Interface with customers and government sponsors.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.</li>\n <li>U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance</li>\n <li>Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:</li>\n <li>Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.</li>\n <li>Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20’ – 25’) within the submarine.</li>\n <li>At least two (2) years business experience in:\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Working with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks.</p></li>\n   <li>Working with Piping systems</li>\n   <li><p>Working with Finite Element Analysis.</p></li>\n   <li><p>Working with Microsoft Office.</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00/Yr. - USD $80,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
