Supply Chain Management Inc.1.com (SCMI1)    has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician VI (Mechanical focus - Diesel Engine Inspector)  position supporting the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) , providing Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) engineering and technical support services on U.S. Naval Ships in port and underway at U.S. Naval facilities and shipyards. Location:  SERMC: Mayport Naval Station, Mayport, FL Job Description/Responsibilities: The experience required is a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines, but is primarily mechanical in nature. Perform troubleshooting, assessment, and oversight of repairs of U.S. Navy shipboard Gas Turbine Engines associated with propulsion and electricity generation. Qualifications/Experience Requirements: A minimum of 3 years of “journeyman level” experience within the last 5 years in the following areas: Troubleshooting, assessment, and oversight of U.S. Navy shipboard Diesel Engines associated with propulsion and electricity generation. Independently or leading a team of technicians troubleshooting, repairing or testing U.S. Navy ship structural, mechanical or electrical equipment/system. Independently or leading a team accomplishing formal material condition assessments (TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of U.S. Navy ship’s systems. Communicating the findings of the above troubleshooting/assessments with official reports. Documented experience with the following, or similar, workload databases: Microsoft Office products, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Electronic Departure From Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship’s Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) and TAAS-Info. Must possess and submit proof of a current Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) certification obtained in accordance with  the U.S. Navy Diesel Engine Inspector Handbook, Part 1, Chapter 3.  The DEI certificate must be current as of July 31, 2025. Interpreting naval engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical guidance.  Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to clear background checks/assessments as required.  Physical requirements for efficient navigation aboard US Navy ships includes possessing the physical stamina, strength, agility, and endurance to walk continuously for extended periods of time without experiencing significant fatigue, adequate upper and lower-body strength necessary to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and work aloft, and agility necessary to enter/exit confined spaces. **Please note that your resume and candidacy is subject to customer approval and acceptance and clearing of the required background check.
