    "description": "<p><em><u><strong>Civil Engineer II</strong></u></em></p>\n\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Engineer has the ability to lead a client/client team (1-5 staff), small to medium projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education; as well as solve most design challenges that arise on a project.&nbsp; Engineer should have good understanding of energy codes and their impact on project design.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer can work in an independent manner on several client and/or project types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer should have good understanding of simple drainage systems.&nbsp;</li>\n\t<li>Engineer can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer should be able to apply their knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized civil engineering standards to most project types, with minimal oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer. Engineer should have a thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, and be able to apply that knowledge throughout the design process.&nbsp; Engineer should have good understanding of energy codes and how they affect design decisions in a project.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer should be able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Engineer should be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.&nbsp; Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to HVAC design, plumbing design, or other national standards.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients&#39; requirements, including most project management and construction administration functions.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer will be able to perform a high level of quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer will have direct client contact.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer will establish project budgets, with the approval of Civil Team Lead, and work with Team Lead to ensure those projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer could serve as Engineer of Record, with approval from Director or Executive, on simple project or roll-out clients.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer will be licensed in less than 5 states.</li>\n\t<li>Engineer should be able to write specifications for most project types.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>About HFA</strong><br />\nHFA is a multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, and interior design firm who thrives in a people first driven environment.
