For the purposes of developing refugees and immigrants&rsquo; ability to effectively perform courses of study in English and acquire the English&nbsp;language.</p><div style=\"font-family:'Segoe UI';font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:400;line-height:20px;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>This is a part-time position.</strong></div><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;<strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meet state and federal&nbsp;standards</li><li>Provide&nbsp;instruction&nbsp;that&nbsp;is&nbsp;consistent&nbsp;and&nbsp;coordinated&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;instructional&nbsp;program&nbsp;so&nbsp;as&nbsp;to ensure that learners meet and exceed learning targets</li><li>Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages the learner responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional&nbsp;strategies</li><li>Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of the learner</li><li>Administer academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating the learners progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\">All&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;above&nbsp;duties&nbsp;and&nbsp;responsibilities&nbsp;are&nbsp;essential&nbsp;job&nbsp;functions.&nbsp;All&nbsp;job&nbsp;duties&nbsp;indicated&nbsp;are&nbsp;not&nbsp;be considered an exhaustive statement and other job-related duties may be assigned as required by&nbsp;the supervisor(s).</p><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited institution, preferable in Education or related discipline (Or with a minimum of three years TESOL experience is required)</li><li>Availability to work on a variable&nbsp;schedule, including the likelihood of teaching on nights and weekends</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate and build lasting relationships and partnerships with program and field office&nbsp;staff</li><li>Sensitivity to the development stages and well-being of ELLs</li><li>Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel and database&nbsp;programs</li><li>Ability to facilitate group discussion, analyze situations, and draw&nbsp;conclusions</li><li>Highly&nbsp;adaptable&nbsp;and&nbsp;flexible&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;multi-task&nbsp;and&nbsp;prioritize&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;demanding&nbsp;work environment</li><li>Must&nbsp;have&nbsp;dedication&nbsp;to&nbsp;human&nbsp;rights&nbsp;of&nbsp;refugees,&nbsp;immigrants,&nbsp;asylum&nbsp;seekers,&nbsp;and&nbsp;displaced people</li><li>Good sense of humor and pleasant, diplomatic manner is&nbsp;desired.</li></ul><p><strong>TRAINING REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>Satisfactory completion of USCRI&rsquo;s Orientation and&nbsp;Training</li><li>Satisfactory completion of funder required trainings upon hire and on an annual basis</li><li>Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p><ul><li>Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio&nbsp;acuity</li><li>Use&nbsp;of&nbsp;repetitive&nbsp;motion,&nbsp;prolonged&nbsp;periods&nbsp;of&nbsp;sitting&nbsp;and&nbsp;standing,&nbsp;and&nbsp;sustained&nbsp;visual&nbsp;and mental applications and demands</li><li>Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying;&nbsp;and</li><li>Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).</li><li>To perform&nbsp;this&nbsp;job&nbsp;successfully,&nbsp;an&nbsp;individual&nbsp;must&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;perform&nbsp;each&nbsp;essential&nbsp;job&nbsp;duty satisfactorily.&nbsp;The&nbsp;requirements&nbsp;listed&nbsp;are&nbsp;representative&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;knowledge,&nbsp;skill,&nbsp;and/or&nbsp;ability required.&nbsp;Reasonable&nbsp;accommodation&nbsp;may&nbsp;be&nbsp;made&nbsp;to&nbsp;enable&nbsp;individuals&nbsp;with&nbsp;disabilities&nbsp;to perform the essential functions.
